New Bike

Post by Couchy »

I'm spending far too long around classic bikes and old people and after a brief spin on one of their bikes I've decided to add a pretend old bike to the fleet :D

Nice.

I've ridden the Interceptor, I thought it felt just like a normal bike. It stopped, it went , it handled ok. They look great.

For me it was just missing a teeny bit of character... but I'm sure that could be fixed with some loud pipes :)

I believe it has good old nut and screw valve setting, what a nice change.

Get a paper catalogue from Hitchcocks, you can spend many a winters night flicking through the billion pages looking at replacement bolts.

Nicer looking than RE's usual fare.

So some more small things today, grab rail removed and Allen bolts on mudguard repacked with half heads and buttons. DNA filter and cover dropped in too 👍

Its out in the wild !, damp patchy roads and new tyres but it lollops along nicely at 85-90 on the country roads. Suspension feels fine but front brake although powerful enough needs more feel, a change of pads is in order. Comfort wise it’s a relaxed riding position and tilted just forward enough to make the 85 cruise comfy. Engine feels good in the midrange using a long throttle, would prob benefit from a quick action one but I’ll wait till it’s run in.
So far it’s doing exactly as expected which is a good thing 👍

I like the look of that!

Needs a brown seat if you're going to embrace your inner hipster.

...and a single bar end mirror.

Its a keeper

If it needs better brakes and a quick action throttle why not have a bike with both already ?
