Mountains aren't really insignificant, nor, I suppose, is the fact that I can sit in my apartment and watch Mont Blanc change as the sun sets!! But, just some views from where I live.

It doesn't matter if I do feel really bad, I can look out at this and I feel a bit better. Ok, Monday was a bit shit cos all I could see was cloud, but that's quite rare. This is far more normal :D :D And the sun is shining again today

This is a favourite. Quite often the valley is filled with cloud and it looks like a sea - the first time I saw this I was walking down the piste to my accommodation in my first winter and the cloud was level with the road!!! Weird but awesome!! This is fairly usual for first thing in a morning - the cloud then clears and everywhere has sunshine :D

Mont Blanc going a little pink in the setting sun. One of the downsides of the bar being built across from me is that bloody parasol!! LOL

Can't remember the name of the mountain this cloud is creating surf off - but damn it's awesome!!! And sunset pink!!

The house opposite us has been empty since we moved in. It's a bloody huge thing with 11 bedrooms on a 4,000m plot. It's even got a lift.

It's just been sold and we've been concerned who the buyer is, as would probably be an extended family, with lots of noise.

But just seen nice Chinese folk arriving. They're usually quiet :)

My favourite is my Lamy tricolour. It's like one of the pens you had as a kid which could do loads of different colours, but for grownups :D It does blue, red and pencil.

Wooh....I have pencil envy! I just looked and you can get a Lamy 4 with pencil, highlighter, stylus and ballpoint. Kewwwul! :banana-dance:

I've got a Cross pen I use daily, but it's only the one colour ink.

The wife got given it at a works conference a few years ago and I stole it.

I get these strange urges when I see really expensive mechanical pencils tho'

Dang shoot! They do not. Well, erm, it's still writing I suppose but good biros are nicer to write with and good drawing pencils are actually better greys and nicer to use.

My Mont Blancs are quite nice too. :D (but I stopped using them at work as it was a bit like weapons escalation. You start taking notes and someone pulls out a bigger, more £ one, so someone whips out a pair in a leather case.....they were just the same with filofaxes. Now I suppose it's diamond encrusted i-phones. :wtf:

A while ago I did an extended project with Mercedes F1, said project involved me going to weekly in person meetings there. I always wrote with either my Fisher AG7 "space pen" or the aforementioned Lamy. It wasn't until I'd been going a few weeks that several people pointed out that they'd noticed straight away, then in the next few weeks I saw more and more Fisher pens appearing around the table

The first time I went there we got given instant coffee. I just casually mentioned that "McLaren have a real barista you know".....from that point on, every meeting was started with fresh brewed coffee brought in by a guy with a trolley who'd take your order and come back :D

Competitive much?

Engineers eh? We can't resist anything nicely made. Even pens and pencils. Instant coffee though? That is just soooo Hyundai. Mercedes should be ashamed.

My work give Cross pens and posh notebooks out to everyone, not so subtle hint that they don't want people meeting clients and pulling out disposable Bic pens.

Our place started doing that only when most of our colleagues started turning up to client meetings using rival's stationery that they'd picked up at shows and demos. They were quite happy supplying us with crappy Bics up til that point ...

If going in as a consultant we were always told 'Try not to look more than slightly better off than the client, we don't want them thinking we're driving Ferraris with their money' sort of thing.
Usually not a big problem but my wife went to Guy Hands Terra Firma offices  she said 'even the walls leak money'. I think you'd have turn turn up and use a pencil stub, wearing an old corduroy jacket with leather elbow patches and pretend to be an eccentric genius in that situation.

Got a massive stack of Moleskine notebooks at home, all branded in Mrs. D's employer and all unopened. She works for an online business so paper isn't a big thing in her office :D

Sat on the Spanish Steps in Rome, about 10.30pm, enjoying the, well, everything, really.

Blokey trying to open a beer bottle on the stone steps. And failing.

Luckily, I had my pen with built-in bottle opener!
