That's convenient !
I was touring in Ireland when a Triumph 800 in the group just stopped, we could not find the problem. It was returned to England by breakdown and they later found it was a fuse hidden under the battery. I'd call that inconvenient.

I think you may need to include a ref to a dictionary for weeksy to understand that.

Lh is a dealer plug and temp sensor iirc
Rh has the 12v acc plug and a big plastic shroud
Pretty sure fuses are under the seat.

I put a Dart screen on my Thruxton. I thought the quality was a cut above other screens I'd had.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 2:32 pm My Guzzi came with a Dart screen, I removed it as soon as I got the bike home because I thought it looked a bit rubbish.
I put it back on for the last ride out, it does make a massive difference to comfort at 70mph+

I'm pretty sure there's fuses under the RH cover. I had mine off a couple of monthhs back to get at the accessory plug and I'm pretty sure there was a fuse box in there as well.Sadlonelygit wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 4:20 pmYou beleive wrong.weeksy wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 1:49 pmI believe that's fuseshilldweller wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 1:42 pm What is the strange lump grafted on to the frame below the tank ?

Well cut my legs off and call me shorty.
The right side DOES have a fuse box in there.
Must have been in there 6 or so times and never noticed it.

I've got the yellow speed block one, only thing I've put on is a Dart screen and the rear seat cowling, the seat works for me done 500k on a Sunday and was fine with it being an upright bike you can stand on the pegs and stretch your bum and back out nicely. Put the traction control on the most intrusive and the map on A then fuck around on it, the bike doesn't know what it wants to do, fun bike.

I'm using standard map currently and have for most of my rides, traction level 1.Newey wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2020 5:25 am I've got the yellow speed block one, only thing I've put on is a Dart screen and the rear seat cowling, the seat works for me done 500k on a Sunday and was fine with it being an upright bike you can stand on the pegs and stretch your bum and back out nicely. Off out about 6:30 to ride over and meet GP so he can potentially try it out.

Not sure leaving the house at 6am today was my brightest move.... Lets just say it wasn't particularly warm out there... It wasn't even 100% dry.
However, it was bloody epic. I'm going to have to go back to the gushing praise and plaudits for the XSR900, it's just THAT good.
Firstly the downsides from yesterdays changes, the exhaust. Well, lets just say, it's not as fruity with this new exhaust compared to the standard one, i don't know what it equates to in Db, but it's a chunk quieter. Good in some ways, bad in others.
However, it looks way better, so i'm happy, the neighbours will also be happy should i ever start going back to work on it.
The Powerbronze screen helps with the wind which is a good thing, it also helps with the flies and the looks, so that's a massive bonus there too. I'll adjust it higher today, not sure if that angle is optimal for noise over the helmet or was just getting used to the new helmet (Which is actually brilliant, really impressed with the HJC)
The handling i changed slightly, upping the pressures by 4psi on both this morning, taking it to 35F 37R, it turns sharper as you'd expect but not too sharp and still holds it's lines lovely. The power on this is smooth, effortless and just one of the easiest bikes ever to ride, you can leave it in whatever gear and it just doesn't care, 3rd, 4th, 5th, it'll still do 25mph, but do whatever speed you want. I may look into a 1 tooth lower front, i'm just not using 6th gear at all, well apart from when i get over-excited with the QS and just want to just keep on going through the gears...
I really want to get one of the lads to ride this to see their thoughts, i know how they ride and their thoughts on bikes and would love some input... Arguably i should have got that before selling the Nitron shock, but i'm not sure i can cope with trying to fit it again and i'm not convinced it's going to make what is already a lovely handling bike any better. I think the MT09 seems more prone to suspension issues than the XSR and i'm honestly not sure there's any point swapping it. (assuming i can ever get the bugger off)
I decided to cut my planned ride short as i was chilly cold and i realised i'd be at GPs house by 6:45am which was never going to be appreciated
coffee and warming up now

No requirement for one currently. If plans for next year happen, I'll then need something, but not for quite a while yet.Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2020 1:33 pm Nice looking bike. Screen and exhaust also. Rigid tail bag now. ?

A screen is a must, without it's like going back to 1981 on a LC350 with 2 1/2 times the power, but then we come back to the conundrum of diverting the wind onto your helmet, a Dart Marlin screen on mine makes it very blowy in my Arai, without the screen it was OK but if I sit bolt upright by a couple of inches it's OK again, I'm 5' 10.
