I've eaten it when it's been served up but I wouldn't select it from a menu. (Go big on the mustard).

Having done a few long hikes in the Pyrenees, Alps, Appenines etc, the number of times you rock up at a place in the evening, legs like jelly, hungry as a horse, quick shower and muttering 'feed me' like something from Little Shop of Horrors you look expectantly at the beaming proprietor who says 'Tonight we have prepared a local speciality..........'

At which point, you're halfway out the door looking for a burger or three.

DAMN that's labour intensive!! LOL Probably won't do that again!!! LOL

8.5 jars and it was cooking for nearly 4 hours - and that doesn't include the time to chop everything up yesterday

I realised a few months ago that along with all the other shit that has been happening, I've also tried too much to 'fit in' up here. So I've been trying to get back to being much more me again - and meeting up with people that I get on with more in my 'weird' self.

Today has been freaking awesome!!

I headed over to Peisey to meet some friends at an end of summer closing party. What a blast. One of them is someone I met years ago and we get on sooo well. His girlfriend is the daughter of some other friends (that I don't know that well) - she was there and her brother. And we danced and laughed and joked a LOT.

Then I realised that another friend was there too and it was totally FAB to catch up with her socially - another person that I can be chilled out with


I went out for a couple of hours at midday and have just got home. Bloody good day!!!

Went home, sort of.

Sold up and moved out of the house we've lived in for the last 20 years 9 days ago. Today I had to return to visit a neighbour, no emotion whatsoever with the house (the neighbours are lovely) I'm living in a tent for the next few weeks and it feels as much like home as the house did. The house was a lovely period cottage in a nice village location, I think I like the 2m X 4m tent better. The Crafter conversion should be ready by the end of October, in the meantime, happy tents.

A stolen moment today. The weather hasn't been great this week,but it was warm and dry-ish.

It's a ballache/backache getting the bike in and out of the garage at the moment,but I'm glad I made the effort,as it was one of those perfect runs that set you up for the day.

I properly FUBAR'd my Courgette and Ginger marmalade. Properly P'd off!! Turned the heat up to try and get it to temperature and then went to do something else and forgot to go back - burnt the bottom Waiting for it all to cool so I can clean my friend's pan!!!

However, the Beetroot and Feta Cheese burgers were rather lush!!

Going to have a sort out in the freezer and make space so I can put in some ratatouille, and maybe some potato farls/cakes Also means I can dig out some sweet potato fries to have with a beetroot burger later


I have got some of my mojo back so a bit gutted that I can't redo the marmalade until tomorrow, cos the shop is closed and I need another lemon


Oh - and it turns out that if you leave Courgette Chocolate Brownies too long, they go slimey on the bottom Proper yucky!! But they are very nice, so next time I make them I'll have to give more away!! LOL
