A definite potential opportunity for John and I have everything crossed for him to acquit himself well, as I think the clock is ticking for him and he needs a decent Moto2 ride next season - and it will certainly add a bit of interest to Moto2 for the Aragon round for me

I feel it’s the last throw of the dice to get a foot in for any ride next year.

I know there are strict rules about MotoGP riding bikes between races.
But can McKungfoo borrow a Moto2 bike and do a few trackdays?

Re: McPhee to race Moto2 in Aragon
Doubt it as it would be classed as testing but he can ride a Triumph 765 and get some idea of the engine although wont mean much in relation to the stiffer chassis
Proper chance for him to put himself in the shop window for a ride next year as his team wont be moving him up ......almost seems like a gesture by the team to give him that opportunity and hope he does well enough to get a Moto2 ride next year. His small size should help but an entire career on the smallest bikes could be a big step

Re: McPhee to race Moto2 in Aragon
If he is out on a BSB GP2 class bike then it’s not the same spec as Moto2. Could also be an older Moto2 Which are still running 600 or 675 engines so would help him with the chassis as a “getting a feel for it while still not testing” test

Re: McPhee to race Moto2 in Aragon
Just getting used to double the weight and double the power will help
Re: McPhee to race Moto2 in Aragon
Apparently, he was on an R1. I believe that’s a bit heavier than his moto 3. When he climbs on the 2 he’ll think it’s light ????
The fella that told me he was there is a 7 stone weakling, he commented on how small wee John is.

He is very small. But very, very strong and very, very fit. Pretty much in common with every other rider in the paddock. He's also very bright and great to chat to.
