Nice and good choice.
Just sold my MT09 and the engine in these is cracking. Always puts a grin on your face and A mode is even better. To easy to turn into a hooligan.
I have a Titanium Akra and power comander 5 of my mt09 I am going to put up for sale if you are interested.
Enjoy your new bike

Was going to stick on ebay starting at £500. Would let it go for this plus postage if you want it.

The replacement is bought my 2008 zed 1000 back from my mate last year. Sold it to him 5 yrs ago after owning it for just short of 7 years as he kept pestering me to sell to him.Regretted selling it since and got a chance to get back so I did. :D
Also have a drz400sm as my winter bike so three bikes was to much and the mt drew the short straw.
had it 3 years and was a hoot to own but happy I made the right choice and got my zed back.

There's Harleys out there with a lot more than that on! ;) I took a SH300 scooter to 88k miles and sold it running perfectly. Seems to be a UK thing to be worried about mileage approaching or over 20k on a lot of bikes?

I know of a few people with FZ750s between 100 and 150,000 miles, I had a CB400 Super Four that had done over 65,000 miles when I sold it, modern Japanese bikes will rack up the miles if they're serviced.

This whole mileage thing is dealer based.
If they're selling, it's ONLY done 72k miles, as anyone knows that's barely run in for these engines.
If you're selling there's lots of teeth sucking and well, there's not a lot of demand for these right now and several other well known phrases.
Buyers have been conditioned to only accept sub 20k bikes as anything more is high mileage.
Ok back in the day a 30k GT550 would be avoided like the plague as most probably second time around!

Well consider my flabber well and truly gasted... i mean really really.

This is likely to come out like one of them bitter ex-girlfriend stories where all your mates say "We told you she was a bitch and you should have dumped her years ago, you just didn't listen", if you don't fancy reading a gushing report on the XSR900, then you may as well click off this thread now and save yourself 3 mins of reading.

I got to collect it earlier than i expected, trailered it home and jumped on it.

Once again as with the test ride, it just blew me away, everything it does/did is exceptional, i'm hitting corners 10mph quicker, corners where i'd have usually backed off the throttle i'm just holding it and getting round with ease, stability in all corners, all circumstances, it's just epic.

Then you open the throttle and are met with a 'brraaaaaap' noise and it sounds that good, you just want more of it, more more more !!!! noise !!

Down the gearbox the changes are effortless and it's one of them bikes where blipping the throttle requires no thought at all, it's an easy transition to do so, some bikes i have issues with that i must admit.

The QS hasn't arrived yet so isn't fitted, but i expect it to be on by lunchtime tomorrow for a test. The Nitron shock, well, i'm in a bit of a debate there, this thing handles LOVELY... really nice, does it really need a shock ? ?? MMMM i'm not so convinced. I have no idea how fast some of these people who complain about the handling actually go, but i may give Paul Bird a shout next time as they must be BSB levels of speed !!!!

Brakes, i guess if we're being picky they're not as sharp as the 690s, but that was running Brembo SA pads and a notoriously sharp bike on the brakes, so i'm OK with that, if i need to i'll throw some pads in the XSR and i'm sure it will be superb.

I'm not even sure what else to say... I'm a little in shock here with it.. wow.

Glad you like it.
Put the shock in, it'll be much plusherer

Did you see that black one parked outside the bike shop - really dinky little side panels and indicators that are more in keeping witht the head and tail light. Oh, and the SC project Exhaust looked pretty good too ;)

I can see the shock sold by the weekend, doesn't need it imo.

I didn't see that no, I went straight in and out etc to get home.

Exhaust stuff, that's a whole world of complexity
