Going back in time, CPM. I had a desktop running concurrent CPM with 4 windows aeon ago, then DOS took over the world and eventually after abut 30 years we got Windows with a capital W. Just had a right good look at the pic again. As it is, this is a joint box. The cable with the new colours are bottom entry, which suggests to me it goes to the twin socket, and is a new addition to the original wiring The old colours are back entry so was perhaps a radial socket as opposed to a soc...

That’s old colours and the current colours. Red & brown are in a common connector block as is black & blue.
