Re: NBD. The "didn't you have one of these?" Trek Fuel ex9.8

Being a conservative and very old git I opted for the Top Fuel and bought this couple of weeks ago, ended up with this, also 2018, Top Fuel with 12sp AXS upgrade. £1500 from a very nice man in Basingstoke. Fitted the BikeYoke dropper post, just have to learn how to ride it.

Daughter bought an older one a few months back, loves it. 2018, I think, Fuel EX 9.8

GBDuro - LEJOG offroad, solo.

Daughter #2 is currently riding this. Check out Lachlan Mortons video diary from 2019. Complete madness.

Re: Wide fit cycling shoes - recommendations please

I’ve found Northwave to be wide fit, same shape and sizing as my regular shoes i.e. I take 42 in both, similar wide fit.

Re: Suspension around Milton Keynes (ish)

Might be worth talking to Dave Wood Racing, former BSB privateer. Not sure if he’s in Aylesbury or Buckingham, or both, but he ought to know what he’s doing.

Re: Indoor trainers??

I'm thinking of upgrading from my Elite turbo and wondered if the Watt-bike Atom is worth the cost? I've used a standard watt-bike at the gym which seems okay. But my real question is how does a watt-bike compare with the Wahoo Kickr?

They seem to have different degrees of adjustability for size ...

Re: Indoor trainers??

Lots of criticism of the Mk 1 Atom - slow, clunky gear change, seat post slipping are two issues, from top of my head.

Mk 2 resistance unit and shifters have been redesigned and supposedly much better but I’m not sure anyone has actually got a new one yet. Wattbike are quoting 4 months delivery ...

Re: Noise cameras now in London

The sooner they make their way to East Devon the better. I live not far from the A35, maybe 400 metres as the crow flies, an idyllic location in a wooded valley not far from Lyme Regis. It’s not so idyllic on a weekend when the motorbikes are out in force. Big Harleys and Japanese multis, makes no ...
