Re: Superbike Factory!
Did they just get a bit greedy ?
Yeah I guess you could put it like that... Mostly selling totally unroadworthy bikes to people who need credit, but can't get credit through the usual routes, so sign up on a 35%+ APR finance deal with SBF on a bike that needs £thousands spending on it to put ...

Today's news...
You reap what you sew I guess!
Thoughts with the staff that were just there for a paycheque, but another shitshow of a used bike dealer gone into administration! Oh well...

Just about to build my Whyte eLyte up...
Bought the 140 Works for £4999 from Winstanleys a short while ago, whilst selling my Canyon Neuron OnFly (nice bike, but wanted the Whyte)... Was bought with the pure intention of stripping to get the frame only out of the deal... I now own an eLyte frameset ...

Fork Travel
Max Volume Spacers
170mm 1
160mm 2
150mm 3
140mm 4
130mm 5
So we're running 150mm and should be a max of 3.. he's lobbed 5 in there !!!
After a LOT of experimenting some time ago, I found that 1 volume spacer is optimal for 150mm travel on a 36... Setup with around 20% sag you ...

Relax...
Look up, don't look at the front wheel. Focus on where you want to go, not where you are now.
Use the rear brake plenty. Don't touch the front brake if at all possible.
Good clutch control is an art well practised.
Best of luck with the re-test... After a while, the low speed riding ...

Re: Incoming, ebike day.... Sorta not for me.
Well i've owned one. I don't really understand your question. I see Ebikes as tools in the same way i see MTBs as tools. But i see ebikes as the tools for the lazy in truth. Not only the lazy though but the people who don't want cycling to be as amazing as i see it... I ride on my own power, in ...

Re: New Frame Day - Bird Aeris 9
Typically, Merlin have sold out of reduced fox 36s so I'll have to see what I can find. Probably going to fit a SD Select + shock unless I come across something better.
I'll have a brand new 36, same spec as the Merlin ones, uncut steerer etc... for sale in a few days...
Give me a shout if ...

Re: E-bike motors and the arms race of power !!
Cos it came out late, it's heavy, very noisy, low on power and torque for the market etc... Despite all that I still very nearly bought one... In fact, if I didn't ride with people on more powerful bikes, I would have bought one, but the thought of artificially handicapping myself on purpose when I ...

Agreed, no more wearing out an expensive cassette in a few hundred miles.
But wearing out a way more expensive gearbox ? Mmmm
For real...?
Internal gearboxes on MTB's are many, many times stronger and more durable than any derailleur and cassette system... The Pinion MGU for ...

Yes, yes, yes... Predictably too much power and torque etc ...
