Re: Anyone have experience of the Whyte t-130?

May have a deal lined up, but would need to sell both the 130 and the g170. How awful is the second hand market now? How bad is the market right now?!?! 😂😭 Seriously though… I know of a brand new unridden Medium sized Whyte T-140 CRS going for less than half of its original RRP if anybody wants me ...

Re: Put a deposit on a new bike… Indian FTR content!

Interesting, I wonder if the 'Daves' have bought it back? I don’t know. I never knew the previous management, but I do know it was a well run and well respected local business prior to Completely buying it… Also, they had a super busy eBike shop in there too which had all but disappeared last time ...

Re: Put a deposit on a new bike… Indian FTR content!

Always really liked them, it's a bike I could definitely see myself riding. Nice one, hnbd My local Indian dealer was part of the Completely Motorcycles group though, so no longer there. Heard from a friend yesterday that Thunderroad has been purchased by someone as a going concern, so should be re...

Re: Put a deposit on a new bike… Indian FTR content!

Always like the look of them - considered chopping the Diavel in for one. But they are tiny and I am not. Also I have no idea where there is an Indian dealer within 50 miles of here! Enjoy Funnily enough, the other sort of similar bike that is on the bucket list is a Diavel… Prices are still crazy ...

Put a deposit on a new bike… Indian FTR content!

So I’ve finally done it… Really fancied one for years, but put a deposit on this the other day… It’s just the base model, ironically I didn’t fancy the more bling versions, and though the top end one has Ohlins it’s a lot more expensive, and I’ll probably upgrade the shock and put a cartridge kit in...

Re: Motorcycle Live - meh or yeah?

Went today Set a new record for myself in terms of expenditure, and didn't even need to try that hard to save money! My mate managed to get a free trade day pass off a colleague, so I drove the pair of us up there today... Parked in the Train Station carpark (£12.50 per day, so quite a bit cheaper t...

Mats. Shelves, like Yoz said. Pillar drill at the least. More overhead lights There are tonnes of overhead lights already... Arguably too many! Really don't need a pillar drill... Haven't used one in 25yrs. If I needed one, I have a friend who works in an engineering shop. Shelves are a biggi...

Re: Motorcycle Live - meh or yeah?

I'd guess ANPR has been the death of that tactic :( You'd guess wrong... Car parks at NEC are still manned and no ANPR that I know of there... Would go on the train myself, but likelihood is I'll want to buy something... And I live 3 miles from the train station here (where there's no parking), it'...

Re: Show us your workshop...

Floor looks like it would be more suited to a living room, to be honest. What's underneath it? If it's block flooring on a solid concrete base then you're probably good to go, although it would be wise to check fully before wheeling a Skylift with 200kg+ motorcycle on it around the place. But it's ...

Re: Motorcycle Live - meh or yeah?

I reserve the right to moan like buggery about the price of car parking there though if I don't manage to avoid it... Buy in advance, cheaper init Not if you use the tried and trusted tactic of leaving the show after the car park attendants have gone home! ;) Probably going with a mate who'll be in...

Re: Trek eBike

Would you ? They're a long way off my list as they're very very new to the game, the geometry is a bit meh and their aftersales is very much open to debate yet... Add to that the fact 120Nm of torque seems pointless to me. Don't reckon I've even used 50 of the 85Nm available to me on my Orbea Wild ...

Re: Trek eBike

But all of a sudden weight saving on a eeb seemed important. If aimed at me, I'll qualify my previous point... My first eBike was 26kg... Fantastic geometry, but a veritable tank of a bike. Changing direction felt laborious at times, it definitely didn't have enough braking power, and though the sp...

Got a similar quandry going on myself, trying to convince myself that I want something inbetween my Rocky Mountain Element (120F/100R XC/downcountry) and my Orbea Wild eBike (160 F&R enduro eBike)... I can't stop looking at these... https://www.paulscycles.co.uk/bikes/mountain-bikes/gt-sensor-st...

Been distinctly meh for a few years now, but I've got sooooooo many new bikes I want to see this year that have launched recently, there's no way I'm not going!

Re: Trek eBike

Personally, even with the huge discount, there are better bikes than the Rail out there… It’s a 5yr old design now, and quite heavy at that… In a recommend what you own situation (because I did lots of research on this too), take a look at the Orbea Wild M10… https://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/bikes/...

You have a Gen 4 Bosch…

Gen 4 came in in 2020…

Gen 4 smart system came in end of 2022… Basically the same but with a few added “smart” features to the electrics package.

Gen 3 is pre 2020 and has a MUCH smaller chainring, like 16-18T…
