Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?

Their major fail is the headlights are appalling but that can be rectified with a couple of changes I had one back in 2000. I felt the rear shock was a bit soggy so replaced with a Hagon unit, front forks got an oil upgrade and did the headlight mod. Fantastic wee bike, comfy and reliable, great st...

Re: Would you buy a Aprilia tuono 1100v4 ???

I'd have one in heartbeat, but then I'm moderately biased. All reports are that it is an absolute missile. I had one of the gen 2's while the Falco was off the road for a sprag a few years back, and although the riding position is great it wasn't the comfiest after about 100 miles but it was really ...

Re: Earpeace earplgugs, recommendation...

So I tried the Earpeace ones. I used the black inserts but was still bothered by wind noise a bit. I suffer from tinitus and have really sensitive hearing and I find the good old rhubarb and custard ones to be the best for comfort and shutting out noise.

Re: What have you done today thread?

The Mrs went to work at 7 this morning so I thought I would just have another "half hour". Woke up at 9.50 with a mate banging on the door looking for a set of keys to the building we're renovating, 10 minutes before a Zoom design team meeting. I managed both but lying on too long has knoc...

Re: Private Plates

True story, A mate of mine bought a plate for his bike, F11 STY, and with some appropriately placed number plate screws he could make it look like FASTY. However, when the day came to fit his new number plate it transpired that the plate manufacturer and put the digits in the number '11' quite close...

Re: Stoner Tells It Like It is

Remember how folk used to call him Stacy Moaner? ;) Yeah he did always seem a bit grumpy about something, so now you know and he always seem to get the best out of the Ducati. Or was it the Ducati that needed the best out of him? Because of his "moaning" I was never really a fan but I hav...

Re: Quickshifters ? Yes, No, Maybe ?

I’m guessing no-one is missing manual advance/retard, hand shifts, or acetylene lights... Yeah but I'd still love the chance to ride something like that. QS on a race bike I get it. How much time do you lose changing gear over few dozen laps? Quite a few when you're chasing the clock and the lap ti...

Loch Ness Monster

I rode almost 400 miles for that joke
Admit it, you took the van didn't ya? That bike is far too clean to have done all of those miles. ;)

Seriously though, looks like a top trip.

OK the real reason I have bought it, isn't because of any of the above but purely and simply it's bowfin' and I wouldn't feed it to my dog.

Today I have not bought a concoction of 15% meat, mechanically stripped from the carcass, combined with 85 percent meat filler cleansed with ammonia, which causes stomach and intestinal cancer, grilled and stuck between two pieces of bread made from bleached wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin,...

Re: Spark Plug Issues

Seriously lean mixture could cause that, but it would have effected both plugs and you'd have a hole in a piston. The two plugs probably do fire at slightly different times to extend the spark time and make sure all the fuel is burnt It runs lean anyway. I'm unsure how to richen the mixture using T...

Re: Spark Plug Issues

Probably just a faulty spark plug. If it happens again, then it may not be the sparker. This is my my fingers crossed option based purely on the basis that the other plug in the same cylinder is ok. I am reliably informed that the two plugs fire independently i.e. the lower one fires a micro n...
