Re: First Ride: Pinion's E-Drive System - A New Motor With an Integrated Gearbox

That Rotwild in the Pinkbike article looks bloody good, I'd be seriously tempted to buy one depending on the price. If the motor/gearbox setup isn't crazy money and is reliable it could be a massive hammer blow to the likes of Bosch and Shimano when it comes to e-bikes. Like someone said above, if i...

Re: Selling a bike on finance

Another option is that instead of paying you and you paying the finance company, the buyer pays off the finance then transfers the remaining balance to you.
That way the finance is clear and he knows it.

Just sent it across to the RTTL email address.

It's all the Pantone colour codes so you should be able to get a match made up somewhere.

Re: New Bike Day.... the powder blue girls bike

Nice! The Miami green is a wicked colour, same as my CX bike. With the press fit BB, I'd suggest looking to see what Wheels Manufacturing do that's compatible. I've got one of their screw together press fit conversions in my CX bike and one in my commuter, they've both been absolutely faultless. Not...

Re: Cycle schemes via employer.

I've known loads of people who've done C2W and basically none of them actually cycled to work on the bikes they bought. I’ve used mine in the past to buy a Thule tow bar rack. Needless to say, I’ve never cycled to work on it  I met a guy a couple of years back who used a Brompton to commute. H...

Re: MTB (or indeed road) bike weights, factors and thoughts ?

@weeksy Would the 1.5 kg difference make a real impact on your racing results? If you are doing Enduro isn't it most downhill? It's more than 1.5kg.... but it's 50-50 in terms of weight and geometry that i'm having the current thoughts. Dropping some weight off the bike certainly can't hurt in it's...

Re: Zwift, riding and racing.... update thread, info thread, motivational thread.

I had similar with TR. A few years back I had a decent base fitness and followed TR through the winter. I raced a bit of XC in spring/summer followed by a week in The Alps, all alongside one of the TR plans. That year ended up with me and a couple of mates riding the Cingles Challenge up Ventoux, it...

Re: Zwift, riding and racing.... update thread, info thread, motivational thread.

I've started a 6wk beginner FTP builder. First week completed. I do like now having a structure to my rides on Zwift now. I'd not done an FTP test, but the app has given me 213 based on what rides I've done so far. I have no idea if that is good or not. The structure of a plan works wonders for me ...

If he really wanted to take the piss he should capture Gibraltar and then refuse to give it back to the Spaniards, or annex Northern Ireland  Free Berwick-Upon-Tweed! In other news, Flight Radar 24 has some mildly fascinating stuff going on. There was a US drone flying up and down the Ukraine/...

Re: MTB (or indeed road) bike weights, factors and thoughts ?

I looked at the weight of my Solaris Max last year and considered swapping the Pikes for a set of SIDs to save a bit of weight, I decided not to bother when I realised it would only save about 0.5kg at best. Not worth the outlay at all. Biggest difference I found was swapping tyres, went from 2.5 &a...

@weeksy - have you bought any 29er forks for it yet? No, there's a set of Yari up on CRC for not crazy money, but then i also need a new wheel. https://www.blazingbikes.co.uk/index.php/brands/trek/trek-remedy-2021/trek-remedy-9-8-2021-mountain-bike.html There's a left-field option of a Remedy 9.8 w...

Re: anyone got Hive or nest??

We’ve got a Nest.

Great when it works but the app is temperamental.
The location part is iffy so when it should recognise that we’re away from the house, it doesn’t, so doesn’t switch the heating off.
Kinda defeats the object of having it for us.

He won't be caught by testing during the race as he won't be taking anything they are testing for. He'll be reaping the benefits from doping during training. Did you read the article I linked? It explains some of the dubious things about last year's TDF. https://forum.cyclingnews.com/threads/tadej-...

Re: 2021, Tour de France. Who, what, where.

It's going to be a good one this year. It needs to be as there's been some distinctly average Tours the past few years. My guess is Caleb Ewan for green with Cav winning at least one stage and Sagan getting a load of top 10's but no wins! I'd love to see Cav equal Merckx's record of 34 wins but can'...

I reckon he's got a chance of bagging another stage.
This is the first TdF I've actually looked forward to in years!
The Ventoux stage is going to be something else, I'm going to try and get the day off work so I can watch it in full rather than just highlights.

Re: Mark Cavendish signs for Deceuninck-QuickStep for 2021 season

On current form and with Bennett out you'd have to think Cav will be going to the Tour...
He's got a great racing brain and with his current speed I reckon he could add to his 30 stage wins. Not sure he's going to get another four to match Merckx though.

No idea. None at all. But the sun is out and the lockdown is minimal, can't say I care either way
I think this is the only way to look at it for now.
