Re: In todays news...
Indeed, its so hushed up that the first hit on Google tells you what happened. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c93qk3yjv40o.amp That report, like all the others, tells me that a head was found but no body. It tells me, like all the others that the man was decapitated by bei...

Re: In todays news...
I thought that was a leaked internal police memo. I got sent a copy of them pictures and videos. No sign of a bus. Folk where saying the body was chucked from a car. Some poor sod picked the head up thinking it was a Halloween prank. Have they found the bus yet or even the rest of the body? It's al...

*Why is some hard-boiled eggs peel easily, the shell literally falling away in big pieces to reveal a perfect egg, whilst others almost appear to have superglue holding the shell on and ending up looking like it's been peeled with a machete? Geçmiş olsun In my experience, it's fresh eggs that don't...

It seems Paul didn't want to destroy the old man and Tyson got a 16 minute expose of reality.

Re: Would you have an electric car if you had the money for a new car and were in the market for one?
. . . but then when do you ever get to buy the first car a brand ever made? The only new car I ever bought was a Peugeot 405 GTDT. It developed a problem with what turned out to be the vacuum pump. There had been a call in notice on younger cars for the vacuum pump bracket so I hoped it would be co...

Red sauce, or tomato sauce as the grown ups call it, is sickly sweet. But this is worth a punt if yo have a good world food section in your Tesco. https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/259488457 I usually have Heinz chilli tomato sauce in my fridge, it's way better than simple tomato sauce.

Re: Budget day. Watcha hoping for/dreading?
He seems to have his sights set on targeting businesses so he doesn’t have to target the ‘workers’ The employer’s NI raise is a short sighted tax hike and one likely to cause an overall drop in tax take. You're spot on. In reality all NI payments can be attributed to the employee. In economic terms...

I suspect I'm going to be worse off after this budget. Starmer's Labour Party don't like pensioners.

Re: Water filters
I have a reverse osmosis filter (yeah, it's under the sink) and have been using it for years. I bought it to improve the water for my tropical fish and also filled up the 19 litre water bottles we all have but no fish now so it just produces my drinking water. Our local water is very hard and has a ...

As an aside, the idea of a 'shoot to kill' policy being 'bad' has always struck me as odd. As opposed to a 'shoot to tickle' policy? I don't know the current situation but when I was serving, the Skill at Arms manual was entitled "Shoot to Kill". I doubt anybody being taught to use guns i...

Why were armed police involved and why do we have armed police anyway?
Surely a truncheon and whistle is all that's required.

We pulled out of Diyarbakir around 8 am and headed for Bitlis. It's in 2 patrs and we visited the old part and had a local Büryan kebab which was basically lumps of lamb on a slice of pita bread. A bit disappointing. We then went along the side of Lake Van to Ahlat and its 1000 year old Selçuk cemet...

Sitting drinking çay in a Kültür Evi in Diyarbakir. It's a lovely day but a bit cooler than Turunç. Bitlis and Nemrut crater lake tomorrow - the arthritic hip is already complaining. :( We always gave Diyarbakir a swerve*, even back in the 80s it wasn't exactly a tourist magnet! Last tv footage I s...

Slightly peeved (actually pretty pissed off) that my brain is not retaining information  Everytime the instructor or one of my fellow students asked me a question that we could get asked in the exam this week and next (mocks this week, exams next) I went blank :angry-cussingblack: FFS. I know...
