Re: Go woke, or go broke...

Shares took a hit, buyers are cancelling orders. Orders for what exactly? They don't have any cars on sale and won't for some time :hmmm: They might have a few SUVs lingering on in other markets, but this ^^^ rebrand and advert is related to a car which won't even be revealed until next year. Plus ...

Another clean energy success story... https://abc7.com/post/fire-autozone-store-hollywood-burns-neighboring-businesses-forces-street-closure/15552031/ Similar thing here in MK yesterday, car caught fire and shut one of the main roads for hours. Oh wait. It was a petrol car :obscene-birdiedoublered:...

Dunno if it's still true, but it used to be the case that Qantas had never suffered a passenger fatality in flight (not including people who die of their own volition ;) ), which is pretty good for what is actually one of the oldest airlines still going.

Re: I have a horrible feeling my T4 van's head gasket is toast

The prize for hardest-working van of the year Nothing to do with vans of course, but this reminds me of when I first started working on aerospace actuation systems. Modern airliners spend more time flying than they do on the ground, it can be up to a 70/30 split on long haul stuff! Took me a little...

Re: I have a horrible feeling my T4 van's head gasket is toast

I'm not gonna tell you what the actual number is of course, but even a 'normal' car is designed and tested for more than 200k these days. Trucks and vans are closer to a million. Of course, you seldom find a car with 200k on it which isn't also 25 years old so it's a bit of a hard one to really quan...

Re: In todays news...

If the bus and driver have been found why has it not been reported? I'm interested, from a (previous) professional popint of view. Well they probably didn't guess his name just from the head  I'd suspect it's more the case that it's not widely reported in the popular press, doesn't mean it's...

best engines Only if you don't enjoy breathing  I know it's boring etc, but I suspect the "problem" here is that you can't see the reduction in pollution/improvement in air quality but you can very much see the bill you get for a new DPF. https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/640...

Re: Nerdy MotoGP fuel tank post

Gone are the days of foam filled tanks to stop fuel slosh. I'd imagine there's baffles and foam in there and all sorts of bits of clever tech Do they not have bag tanks like in F1? Dunno. Most race cars (at this sort of level) have a bag inside the 'tank' which is much more resistant to being broke...
