Brake recommendations
Currently have a hayes hfx9 with a 160 disc on the back.
It's either on or off....not exactly subtle in its action.
Don't want to spend a shed load of money, just fancy something that has more feel rather than noisy, noisy, noisy...lock

Re: Brake recommendations
I’m guessing this is quite an old bike as the HFX9 hasn’t been produced in years?!?!
Always difficult to fault Shimano Deore on a price per £ basis, but also not the most modulated of brakes either. Hearing good things about the Clarks M3’s that are crazy cheap @£42.99 for a pair @ Tredz right now but no personal experience…

Yeah just fit a Deore on the rear then... Or another Saint if you're feeling flush.Sadlonelygit wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 10:52 pmGot a 4 piston saint on the front, that is 1 finger stopping, so leaning towards something Shimano!mboy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 8:55 pm I’m guessing this is quite an old bike as the HFX9 hasn’t been produced in years?!?!

Re: Brake recommendations
Trek4300, I've had it 15+ years now. Bomber air forks and hydraulics are the only things I've upgraded.mboy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 2:05 amYeah just fit a Deore on the rear then...
