Friday thread.... the October tension !
Fri. Sitting at home having a weird day as the boy is in Switzerland (well, currently in France) going racing DH and i'm home. Out for a meal with Mrs Weeksy later.
Sat. Relaxing and watching some cycling, then may treat the wife to a meal out again too. Watching the boy on live timing for his seeding run
Sun. MTB event 55km, then off to pub to see if i can catch the boy on live timing for his race run.
I know you guys have all experienced the kids growing up and letting go... but i'm not enjoying this yet lol

Re: Friday thread.... the October tension !
Fri - WFH then a weights workout and yoga when I'm done. My physio told me I have tight glutes (smooth talking minx that she is) and that I may be over training 'given my age'. . Yoga is recommended, presumably along with imbibing the elixir of eternal youth....
Saturday, up, gym, dog walk then cleaning the shit-tip that is Chez Gremlin. Drive down, with hound, to have dinner with my niece and husband. Will try to be restrained for the sake of my liver.
Sunday, drive back and then chill. Might go on a long dog walk with friends. And dog, naturally.

If it's delivered I'll be moving about 4 tonnes of floor tiles from outside of the house to inside the house. The architect should be turning up to look at shed levels sometime too, and I've of load of art to collect for delivery to the big island.
Tomorrow is packing the van for the trip to the big island.
Sunday, weather, Calmac, et al permitting is getting the ferry to said big island.

Re: Friday thread.... the October tension !
Today - got an assessment session with the physio as a prequel to joining her classes each week. I'm not v diligent at doing exercises at home so hopefully this'll make sure I do some of the stuff to keep on top of the ol' spinal L4/L5 and sciatic nerve problems. Apparently I'll be the novelty/sole bloke in the class.
Next week going to a workshop/presentation on traditional Japanese printing techniques.
Steeling myself for the purchase of 4 new tyres before November arrives.

Re: Friday thread.... the October tension !
Fri - WFH as usual delivering weekly update to the Exec via Teams. Then some car reps which have came in a big heap - puncture requiring 2 new tyres, headlight failure requiring new HID ballast (bumper off and light out to replace!) and open button on key fob stopped working! Once done do a bit more of the new shed install.
Sat - Haircut and hopefully finish new shed install!
Sun - Nothing other than a roast and wine, I hope!

Re: Friday thread.... the October tension !
A few post work beers tonight on the square in the last(?) of the summer sunshine.
Tomorrow could get busy, pick up a pair of MX boots I bought on fleabay, new clutch cable to fit to the Himalayan and the Griso needs a good clean because...
Sunday monring someone is coming to have a look at the Griso, he's driving an hour and a half and I've warned him that any lowball tyre kicker offers will be refused. Got to sort the ski gear ready to take down with us to France on Wedensday, it's to leave there ready for our New Year visit where we hope we'll get enough to have a wee slide on.
Finishing the weekend off with a slap up tea with a monster cheese board as the boy is home for his sister's birthday.

Re: Friday thread.... the October tension !
WFH today but bunking off at midday to meet a Care Company at my Step Dads to hopefully arrange his ongoing care.
Tomorrow helping my Son move into his new flat. I'm taking the wife out for a meal in the evening to celebrate raising two nice, responsible kids and generally patting ourselves on the back for our parenting skills Truth be told its a diversion tactic as the wife is going to be very emotional now her little soldier has left home!
Sunday going to give the X-ADV a bit of a check over

Re: Friday thread.... the October tension !
Finally decided it's time to crack on and see if the Lancia Beta will start after its new(ish) head gasket fitting. But first I have to do a fairly fundamental garage clear out/bin/rearrange exercise so I can a) get to the damn car and b) have space to move it if by some freak of nature it decides to start.
I'm going in and I may be some time...

Wait until they knob off to far flung places like Oz. I didn't enjoy that much either. I still don't,but I have no right to say so.
Tis a pissy weekend ahead here,so no bike outings for me. Favourite daughter's birthday today,so we'll hit up an Indian tonight.

And you never will, that's the job you signed up for.
35173 left home for 18 months and promptly moved back in when she had a break up with her boy, now she's off around the EU every other month for long weekends with her current fancy, which doesn't bother me at all, but I start to get jumpy when she's out in her car and not back when I expect her, which is daft, she's a grown young woman @ 23.
Re: Friday thread.... the October tension !
WFH as per usual today, might be a late one as I'm back to back all day and have some actual work to do too.
Sat/Sun: looking to see how much he's cleared out the remaining part of the shed, which he's been busy with this week, finishing that off and seeing if I can re-home the mower in there. Which will involve building a ramp etc.

Re: Friday thread.... the October tension !
Covid and flu jab this pm, then chilling as the F is here until Sunday. Nice beef stew for later.
Saturday is long walk along the cut, beer on the way back.
Sunday is nothing, just relaxing.
Back at work Tuesday, goody goody.
The kids thing, both mine are 30 miles away and dont visit me, I go to them. The influence of my ex sadly. You never stop worrying about them.
Enjoy whatever you’re doing
Mick.

Re: Friday thread.... the October tension !
Don't fret, enjoy it while you have it. Then you can have a few years 'off' when the littluns are growing their wings and you can get to know the missus again, and then if you're lucky suddenly you'll be a granddad. They'll never stop needing you though - I had a little counselling session only last night with my 28yo.
Moi, this weekend finishing some roof / leakage fiddling.
Friend coming round for tea on Saturday night and a bit of a booze-up.
The missus is going to try and drag me to the flicks for a Sunday morning showing but I doubt that will happen.
Hopefully a swift go on the moto in the lanes if it's nice.

Re: Friday thread.... the October tension !
Today/evening - waiting on exam results then driving home - probably going straight to sleep!
Sat and Sunday depend a bit on the weather - want to go to the valley but only have a bike to use at the weekend and apparently it snowed up high today (I love snow, just depends if it’s on the road when I have no car!!)

Re: Friday thread.... the October tension !
We've had unexpected great weather (sun, 16 odd degrees) yesterday afternoon and all day today so today I've been using the motorcycle to get around & later a bicycle for afternoon bits & bobs - in shorts, no less.
