Shoei XPR pro helmet SHOEI P.F.S. / Personal Fitting System
It’s new helmet time and was wondering Has anyone got the the XPR pro, I have had 2x X-sprit 3’s.
They were nice but after quite a few hours wearing it hurt my forehead. (2nd is more for display)
I’ve seen they now offer a fitting service for it, £60.
Just wondering if they can make it the best fitting helmet ever ()
I bought a Fabio Le Mans HJC rpha1 and had to sell it after 3/4 weeks as it absolutely killed my forehead, even though my current HJC rpha 11 fitted well. (Don’t want another one though)
So has anyone tried them???
Cheers

I have a head that fitts both Shoei and Arai. I was put off Shoei when the inner foam fell apart after 4 years (with minor use).
So back to Arai and the clunky visor system
I have had a Chaser for the last two years - it has alway been comfortable - but now it hurts my forehead!!
So watching the post with interest

The Shoei visor mechanism does my head in, I'm going back to Arai next time.
It's all about what you're used to.

I've got an Arai Quantic, it's aces.
The visor fitting system is a step back, imho. I'd mastered the old system and could switch visors in seconds. Its a proper faff now you have to pop the side pods off.

Popping the side opds off isn't the issue - getting them back on is!KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 9:29 am I've got an Arai Quantic, it's aces.

With the old system, I changed a visor going to Assen, and the tangs on the side pop broke. I had to ride for the rest of the time with the visor taped shut

Ah - I'd have to check that then, if they've changed the mechanism so the pods have to be taken off.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 9:29 am I've got an Arai Quantic, it's aces.

I used to swap visors on a daily basis (riding north then east on a winter morning meant clear for half the journey, then dark for the rest), and got very used to quickly swapping them without taking my lid off. keep the mechanism lubed (with the supplied silicon gel) and there was never an issue).

I've owned one. Bought in 1977(?), an S12 IIRC, near-identical copy of a Bell Star.
So I have absolutely nothing of value to add to this thread - apart from keeping it higher up the board
Amazingly, Bob Heath still do visors for them!

That's a faff.
Although to be fair I only change my visor once on my Shoei's.

Fuck me,what a palavar. I'm a long term Arai fanboi, but I'd think long and hard before buying one with that system. Over fussy and fiddly bollox. WTF was wrong with the old system? I take off my visor for cleaning after every journey, that method would be a nuisance.
Was this why Michael Dunlop's visor became detached this year at IOM? You'd be less than pleased to bugger about with that on a refuel..
Enjoying my HJC. For visor removal, push a tab each side of the visor when fully open, pop it back in again when reinstalling. You listening Arai?

I have that system in a Chaser. I managed to remove the side pods then couldn’t actually work out what to do next.Skub wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 9:25 pmFuck me,what a palavar. Kind of says everything you need to know about the system

Re: Shoei XPR pro helmet SHOEI P.F.S. / Personal Fitting System
So went to Moto Legends in Guildford this morning for my fit, was good, had a fitting for the X-SPR, all my lids have been a medium up until now I have an oval shaped bonce, but I’ve got a current x sprit 3 in Medium and it hurts my forehead, they fitted me in a large with different padding, feels proper nice and snug.
Now just need to wait for the colour to be released and they will fit the relevant sized pads and send it to me.

Re: Shoei XPR pro helmet SHOEI P.F.S. / Personal Fitting System
I had Arais in the 90s and 00s and they fitted my head fine, took a break from road bikes and then went back, bought an Arai Chaser V, on long rides it hurt my fore head, now got a X Lite, the fit is better than an Arai, visor change is very easy, sadly the paint is nowhere near the quality of Arai paint.
