WDW Race of Champions

Post by ChrisW »

Qualifying from earlier today - place your bets (unless you already know / have seen it...)!

They're all on the 2025 Panigale, unveiled yesterday.

I wonder if they say "Have fun, but no injuries ok? "

There's some big egos out there ;)

And 'The Maniac' is on pole... Guess his recent WSBK experience helped - I imagine he'd adapt very well to a thinly disguised WSBK bike for the road...

V4 with a double sided swing arm, the Ducatista’s will lose their minds.

Not this one - I've always preferred a double sided SA. I think Ducati have been forced into using one as the SSSA has weight and rigidity issues, although Ducati will say different.

I’m not a fan of them but I must admit this one looks very smart. I wouldn’t lose my mind over it but on the 1299s and V4s the single sided swing arm looked the muts nuts. The double sided swing arm on the 959 for me looked shite especially with that hideous exhaust.

My rule of thumb has always been 'if they use double siders in MotoGP then there's a reason and it's performance-related'. Most people think single siders look better, which is why they're fitted to so many bikes. But they're an engineering compromise - they've got better and better over the years but if you want ultimate performance and weight saving, it has to be a double sider.

But that new V4S double sider does look well trick.

Well that was uneventful until it was eventful.

The incident did make me literally laugh out loud.

Not seen it, but it did strike me as just 'Marquez being Marquez'...

In my head at the time I said 'but of course he did'.

Not seen a decent angle of it - I suspect the only one will be from a spectator, if at all.

Probably the indignity of seeing two WSBK riders ahead of him... :D

Marc finally fesses up to punting Bulega off. Strange how his memory took best part of a week to finally register what he'd done...

I read something from Bulega where he said Marquez had been to see him on the Saturday, apologised & gave him his helmet from the race as part of the apology. Maybe Bologna just wanted silence about the whole thing for the sake of their marketing event.
