Time to ditch the old lawnmower, so may as well get a battery jobbie, except when I floated the idea I was told we also need a strimmer and a hedge trimmer

So now we're into what ecosystem to buy into rather than a one off piece of kit, oh and Ryobi isn't on the table, so thoughts, horror stories, suggestions?

I've got 7 Makita garage tools and all excellent if you want a brand recommendation

Stihl battery mower gets a from Which? (Which one and £ will depend on the size of your lawn obvs). I'm v pleased with my Stihl (battery) garden kit so that's what I've got planned.

Eh? I've got a Stihl strimmer with a removable battery. It's in the AK range. (I bought it without the battery 'cos it's the same as my chain saw).

IIRC the 36v mower users 2 18v batteries so you can get the mower with batts and the other stuff without. It's worth checking to see if you have a Stihl agent nearby. I'd been at a Wood Fair where they were doing discount stuff and my local place matched prices. V pleased with them and they're good on advice too.

Why on Ryobi?

I can be a little bit of a brand snob
In Benchmarking exercises I have been a part of they only come out as so so performance wise compared to comparable stuff like Worx.

Nothing inherently wrong with them, but I'd sooner not.

Anywho, s'all done and dusted now, all bought along with 4 batteries.

(We have something like 10 Ryobi tools and about 9 batteries now.... Perfectly happy with all of them tbh)

How many chargers did you get? Want to sell one?

We have a very small but unruly hedge - I bought a Lidl battery hedge trimmer - does the job well for 30 quid including battery and charger-

2 and nope, I don't envisage ever needing to have both running simultaneously, but you never know.
It's better to have and not need, than need and not have, 2 is 1 and 1 is none etc etc

2 is good, I plan to have one in the cabin down the back garden and one in the garage for the front. I guess I'll get one when I buy the mower. The price is a bit silly if you just buy a charger.

Having multiple batteries means we can both work on stuff at the same time, and can keep going for longer.

Mostly the batteries either come with stuff, or we wait for deals. In fact i think most of the tools were bought on deals of some sort or other.

Nah, one of the purchases was bare tool only, to try and bring the initial outlay close to reasonable whilst having enough batteries to expand later if needs be.
