What's your next MTB going to be ?

I like a bit of this in motorbike contexts, so thought i'd also go down this discussion in the cycling bit.

I've been sitting looking at "hmmmm what would be next" type bikes and debating a DH bike for duties even. Then saw this

Which is a proper big boys toy with 180mm RS Boxxers on it and a 180mm coil on the back. 700w hour battery on there too which is a LOT of power in it... Although this is all obviously going to make it a heavy arse steam-roller of a bike to ride... It's somewhat epic really.
Probably massive overkill for what i actually want/need.

This is arguably more suited to sitting alongside the Orbea Rise and the Status 160

With the only real downside being the colour on this one... but the spec is nice and the geometry nice... I can see a DH bike in the not too distant years coming in, even if only for short number of days out per year.

The Gambler seems quite cheap in these days of mega expensive mountain bikes.
But if I was looking for DH specific I would be scanning the ads of Pink Bike

I do quite like buying new, especially after watching Friday Fails on PB as you see how badly some bikes are catapulted into the floor
You can buy some quite nice DH bikes though i agree for not a lot of money.

The Gambler is great value for sure. The CUBE TWO15 is also good value but has a cheaper build spec. Whereas the Gambler is actually a pretty good spec in it's own right.
The CUBE i rode at Antur was arguably a little big, but not too much. However it did feel really nice though that's for sure.

I think it'd get enough use to justify, but whether or not it'd give any benefit is open to debate

EBike would need to be from LBS for inevitable warranty work. I still don’t think Brose motors in Specialized are as reliable as Bosch, time will tell on the EP801 Shimano motor and the gits have made the new motor only accept a new design battery connector so no retro fitting without the expense of a new battery.

I still happy with the Evil for ebiking, the Curtis for hooligan HT duties and the Madone for commutes(though a new Gen 8 would be nice with discs and e gears).
