Nopes, I do get it of course but don't feel the need. Even the Orbea on a 180 stops me fine with Codes.

My Whyte comes with a 220f and 200r as standard with code REs and I've never wanted more brakes.
On the other hand my Canyon has 180s with sram DB8s, and my first singletrack DH section scared the shit out of me because I couldn't even slow down, never mind stop if I wanted to

That will be getting a 200 on the front when it's time to change, 200 is the max that Fox recommend for the fork.

Is your fork rated for a 220mm disc?

If it is then maybe treat yourself to a set of SRAM Maven's as they're rated for E-Bikes and the "larger set" Gentleman.

I'm on 200mm XT's (with disconcerting "Varibite" (c) Shimano feature) which stop me well enough.

Very subjective, but definitely more functional than overly wide handlebars for most of us (I do know a couple of guys with shoulders wide enough to justify 800+ bars, but most people I know now trim them to the 760-780 range having realised there is such a thing as too wide)...

Lots of variables though... Your weight, your riding style, your bike, your tyres, your brake system, your brake pads, your ability to get a good bleed (or your mechanic's) on your brake system...

For me @ 95kg on a full fat eBike that has come with Deore 4 pots and 203mm rotors F&R and I'm finding the brake performance a little underwhelming, I'm contemplating a 220mm front rotor and a change of pads before I go committing to spending a significant amount of money on a brake upgrade...

If you're 60kg on a lightweight XC bike then I suspect it would be massively overkill!

220mm rotors aren't eBike specific, but they certainly make a lot more sense on an eBike, especially for those of us more "gravitationally challenged" than others!

The extra weight and momentum of an eBike really does tax the brakes quite a bit more.

Never had an issue on regular manual bikes - other than cooking the discs at Morzine on the 161

220 front and back. Standard sizes on the Focus, using Hope floating rotors and V4 E4 brakes and not lacking in braking power in the slightest even though I'm a fat fuck and the bike isn't even in the same postcode as light, probably knocking on the door of 25kg.

Maybe i'm missing something but i've not felt underbraked for many many years. Even the boy when riding the Rise doesn't come in saying he's under-braked and that's on a 180 CodeR. Maybe it says more about how me and him ride in some ways, but i don't profess to be a riding God that's for sure. But i'm more than happy on 180.
The Status is running 200s both ends and again, no issues at Dyfi, Antur, FoD etc... Sure maybe at the Alps in Aug it'll be found out, but that's arguably rider error rather than brakes

Yeah but brake use has got a wired relationship with ability, when you're slow and shit (me) you need the bestest brakes cos your not good enough to carry the speed without crashing.

When you're pretty damn good, (you) you don't need so much brake because you can carry the speed.

When you're really fast (world cup level) you want the biggest bestest because the speed you carry is fucking ridiculous.

I know my place on that bell curve.

check the thickness of the disks, are they near or below the Min? maybe they just need a really good bleed and different pads. I really like the Galfer Purple pads, they work really well for me.

Just bought a 223mm Galfer rotor to replace the 203 on the front of my Orbea Wild.

Going to stick some upgraded pads in too...

Hopefully that'll fix the underpowered Deore 4pots, without having to spend any more money!
