Debating a new MTB Full-Face... Mmmmm
Just been looking and my Bluegrass helmet is 4+ years old now.

I do still really like it, but it's seen better days, it's been on the floor multiple times, got plenty of scuffs etc... So maybe it's time to retire it.
I'm liking this Troy Lee D3... .my lad hates the scheme but i'm a fan.
this 100% Aircraft is sweet too
Last on the current list is the Kask
But also debating if i should go slightly more vented.

My issue is finding one that actually fits. I don't think I've got a particular big bonce but even an XL leatt is tight. Especially round the cheeks. I may have to do some mods.
Troy lee for me though.

I bought POC to replace my old crashed Giro
It was cheap and fitted.
I also have a 100% sometimes - which was really cheap on CRC

Good price, not a helmet I like. I just don't seem to get on with FF helmets that are like MTB helmets in terms of liners etc.
My Bluegrass first like a motorbike helmet and I love it.
So I've offered on this

Re: Debating a new MTB Full-Face... Mmmmm
Well that all went wrong.... I missed out on that one. We'd discussed a plan where we met up to do the deal tonight in person, but then someone clicked Buy-it-now before he'd accepted my lower off... so i missed out.
I tried mine on this morning, it's a Bluegrass Brave and must admit it still fits lovely. With the only downside being it's been down the road, but nothing more than superficial issues arguably. So plan 1 currently is to keep with it with a possible plan B of
https://winstanleysbikes.co.uk/bluegrass-intox-helmet
The Intox above is the same as i sold to @Beancounter recently because it was too small for my head, it was the boys spare before he got sponsors. I rode Morzine in the boys one for a lap or 2 years ago as he wanted footage and the goPro mount was fitted on his.
They do them in bigger sizes though of course. It's slightly on the side of cheap and cheerful arguably but i'm OK with that.

Re: Debating a new MTB Full-Face... Mmmmm
I ended up with a compromise... lol
The boy runs this as his race helmet
But they don't have it in his size of Medium. So he has another TLD D4 he doesn't wear as he's not keen on colours
The shells between the M and the L are the same. So we'll swap the pads from them around and he gets a Medium in the scheme he loves, i get the large.
It's not my favourite colours, but hey, it's what parents do isn't is

Re: Debating a new MTB Full-Face... Mmmmm
SO that didn't work out either. The TLD D4 doesn't fit my head. So unless i can come up with a plan, i'm sticking with the Bluegrass.
It's getting expensive sending bike helmets i need to insure at £300+ so i'm kinda stuck at the moment as there's not a lot of places to try on a range of FF helmets and as we've established, i'm a bit fussy on what fits and doesn't.

Re: Debating a new MTB Full-Face... Mmmmm
I've not tried a Rampage, only a Proframe and Proframe RS. But it's made me wary of trying the Rampage.
So i've bought the Bluegrass linked earlier, it's cheap and i know with 90% certainty it should fit as the boy owned one and i rode in it at Morzine (recently sold a new one to @Beancounter ) but it was a Medium and too small ideally for me. So bought in an XL and should do the job nicely.

WOO and HOO !!!
Finally after a long search i found a helmet i can live with.
Super Air R Spherical MTB
https://bellbikehelmets.co.uk/products/ ... 4322938155
I saw that Bell have lots of big discounts on and thought i'd try... I had a Super3R and it didn't work, i think i tried another too back in the day too.
Convertible to open face but i expect it'll spend 99% of it's time as full-face.

Then chinbar was really close to my face, kinda off-putting so it went back.
