Does anyone have a separate wok burner that they can recommend? We're moving to a house with no gas so I need a burner that runs off a propane tank or similar. Ideally it'll be something I can use inside but I don't need to permanently install it in the kitchen. Thanks.

We finally moved so I did something about not having gas but really enjoying cooking with a wok. I didn't want a flat bottomed wok and using a stand alone gas burner inside didn't seem that practical to me. So I read about these bowl shaped induction hobs that are specifically designed for woks...

The long and short of it is that it's excellent. You don't get heat concentrated in one area, you can move the wok about easily and the amount of heat you can generate far far exceeds a standard gas hob with a wok adapter ring. It cost me about £140 I think and I'm really pleased with it.

I can tell from your Wok you're a keen chef in this area The blacker the Wok, the better the cook.

We've got a 6 burner Gas hob anyway (put in by the previous owner), including a 'double ring' Wok burner. I wouldn't be without one now.

Nice. Jealous but no gas within miles of here sadly.
