Friday thread... Mid May... Rainy, sunny, rainy

Post by weeksy »

Weird weather at the moment, good, bad, then repeat... Good news is, it's not cold :)

Fri. The boy is on GCSEs still, Chemistry exam today for him. May do pizza/chinese later.
Sat. MTB with @crust and not a lot else in truth
Sun. Watching DH world cup from Poland mostly.

Quiet one really this weekend before heading to Fort William next weekend, so just making the most of a bit of downtime.

Gonna help Baby D finish her school project on Brazil, she's got to make a display board/poster thing.

She tells me there was this famous Brazilian guy who was really good at driving cars fast. Who knew! Gotta find out who that was apparently. :hmmm:

Tidying and reorganising once the painter has finished. Ready for the gasman on Monday morning.

Moving spawn's furniture so their kitchen is ready for the floor to be sorted.

The weather seems to have gone from spring to autumn and missed summer out. :D Woke up this morning to a typical September mist....but the sun's up now.

I'll be continuing with my DiY to-do list and contemplating how to spend my second £10 Screwfix voucher. Bought a pair of Apache work shorts last week. (V pleased, recommended). Would like to get an old skool, metal, profile gauge but they're all cheapo plastic things now. :(

Oh, will be doing the local Open Gardens and having a nose around the stately piles of 'the folks who live on the hill' above the village.

Friday again all ready!! That went quick.
So, nights from tonite until Monday morning so nowt planned as I’m sleeping.
Monday, off to live with the F for a while as her mental chav neighbour is causing problems again. Already had a couple of fallings out with him, I think this might be another one, man’s a fecking moron.
So today is washing, gardening etc as I won’t be here for a few weeks other than quick visits.
Enjoy and have fun whatever you’re up to, it’s Rugby Bikefest this weekend so just remembered, I may get up early Saturday for a ride into Rugby for burgers and a beer.

All weekend I'll be trying to clean our apartment after tenants did a bunk.

It's disgusting once we started looking.

We noticed that they never had the windows open and there's damp everywhere.
Gonna have to wash the walls and redecorate the whole place and it's a big apartment.
We've been letting/renting 20 years and this is the worst mess we've seen.

And Penny had already been down while I was away and did lots. Glad I didn't see it then.

It's hard to believe folk can live like that.

I'm gonna be very busy :(

I have some other upscale young professionals and 40-something retirees coming over, so I'll make a Fischeintopf.

It will sing with the fresh zing of lemon juice and herbs added just before serving while the cream will ensure a luxurious mouthfeel.

After that we will probably take to the various pubs within walking distance.

Saturday - golf in the morning then nowt for the rest of the day, watch the golf when it’s on.

Sunday - playing a team match at Strathmore GC, watch the golf when I get home, so essentially golf golf and some more golf.

We didn't get take away, we sat outside the 4 points pub instead and had beers and food.

I really do love living in this village on evenings like this

Absolutely the sun counts. I went to the gym bar which has a terrace that over looks the golf course clubhouse and there were people outside enjoying an evenings drink. Just a real nice vibe. Ended up having 4 pints as the wife drove for once. Plus the wife and I both beat our Son at pool! :D :obscene-drinkingcheers:
