GPS app

Post by Yambo »

I have a fairly clever phone (Samsung M51) and like most of these smart phones has GPS so it can tell me where I am on Google maps, MapsMe etc but it does not give me detailed information, Lat and Long for example.

Can anyone recommend me a good app that will use the phone's GPS module to give me precise information? I'm heading to a dark location tonight to do some astro imaging and my tracking mount will work better if I can give it precise coordinates. I can getclose with Google Earth before I head out but my final position might be some distance off.

I appreciate and help you can provide. Ta!

OS Locate - free - gives LatLong and little more, so really quick!
OS Maps (basic) is free too
What3Words is used by about 90% of UK emergency services
Even bland can be a type of character

OSMand has a widget which will display live Lat/Long on your screen

What3Words also has a setting which will give the Lat/Long alongside the W3W location
