Worlds Strongest Man

Post by the_priest »

Tom Stoltman has got his Third Title and his not even 30 years old yet! What an astonishing performance and included a world record for the weight for height keg toss (Three men got the world record). He did not place lower than third in any of his events and come first in 3 of the six events. So fun to see his dedication paid off.

No livestream, but a running commentary on each event by Laurence Shahlaei who is a former Europe's Strongest Man winner.

Tom's brother Luke won Europe's Strongest man for the second time this year and placed 9th at World's Strongest Man. He is one of the older competitors.

You can imagine growing up and little Luke telling the school bully "I'll tell my brother!". As if. ..... Not the sort of brothers to mess with.

Unbelievable genetics in that family, the younger brother is going to be huge if he ever went down that avenue, he’s a fair height.

I think he is 6ft5'ish. He also has a better grip strength than his brothers.

Being tall isn't necessarily a benefit in weightlifting. Perhaps more so in the Strongest Man competitions.

There is an advantage for certain heats, some suit the shorter guys. Depends on leg length, back length etc.
