Torch!
Current torch is failing (USB charging not working, and goes flickery at odd moments).
It's an OEX from Blacks. Is fairly bright. Has adjustable zoom/wide, and high/low. £30ish when bought, but I think that was reduced.
Replaced an LED Lenser, which was very good (until it wasn't ... the switch failed and the OEX was cheaper!), but nearest replacement looks to be about £90+
Is there a half-way, reliable but not stupid price, alternative?

Re: Torch!
My go to torches are Olights, but you have to wait for a sale to get them at acceptable prices (IMHO).
The only other one I have is a LED Lenser P7.2, handy little thing but the prices have more than doubled since I got it, and I'm not sure it's worth the new price.

Re: Torch!
I only bought the Lenser because it was well discounted. Given that it failed, not worth the cost even then.MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 10:04 am My go to torches are Olights, but you have to wait for a sale to get them at acceptable prices (IMHO).

Re: Torch!
'Mine' get used weekly, mostly by the wife searching out spiderwebs to vacuum.
I like the Olights (Batons) as they have magnetic charging bases so have no USB socket to break, their operation isn't very intuitive but they give a decent light and have a good battery on them

Re: Torch!
I have one of these
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CPSGZ3GY
Can't vouch for it's reliability but it's very bright with a good zoom and can also be used as a usb powerbank.
for £20 it was worth taking a chance on, so far I am happy with it.

Maglite https://www.torchdirect.co.uk/collectio ... te-torches
I have a big (3 D cells) LED model that must be 20 years old. Utterly reliable and you could probably use it to hammer nails in. I also have a Mini Maglite of the same vintage that's just as reliable but too light* to use as a hammer.
