Where Can I Go Fast? Really Fast.
At Bruntingthorpe VD day I was clocked at 178.4 in 2001.
At Portimao last year I was showing 170+ every lap.
Neither of these seemed fast really.
I've done 150 about 30,000 times.
Before I get too old, I really wanna have a go on a lunatic bike. Summat like a H2R or Turbo Busa.
Both these are capable of 250 ish.
Yeah. Bring it on.
Is there anywhere or anyone that will let me loose on a runway on a monster?
Money is no object here.
Calling on the RTTL brains....

Re: Where Can I Go Fast? Really Fast.
It won't be Bruntingthorpe. That's closed for events now just a giant car park.
FWIW, if you want to rent somewhere (on the UK anyway), you'll probably need to provide a defined plan for what you're intending, a risk assessment, and appropriate insurance.
And FWIW2, when I rented part of the Eboladrome, the site owners imposed a 40mph limit If we'd wanted GT-style bonkers speeds, we would have need marshals, emergency first aid cover, etc.
And FWIW3, when renting an army site I had to provide an emergency plan.

Re: Where Can I Go Fast? Really Fast.
I don't need a site first.
I need a bike supplier.
There's loads of Turbo Busas and H2Rs about. I'd have assumed that some owners would have customer packages to ride somewhere to earn a few bob.

Re: Where Can I Go Fast? Really Fast.
Or just follow the Taffy Holden method and take one for a spin anyway.
As for going fast on a motorbike, 250mph on a bike built to do 250mph is probably going to feel very similar to 178mph on a bike built to do 178mph.
If you just want to do 250mph on a motorcycle then fair enough, but if you're looking for thrills then there are lots of options for thrill seekers, I've done all sorts of things to get a buzz and I'd struggle to top the experience of doing barrel rolls in a Spitfire over Beachy Head, it's not that expensive and definitely worth it.
Other cheaper things are the track experiences like drifting or something, but you're well used to track stuff, so maybe take to the skies or go white water rafting, or something.

I don't know about getting a bike*, but I do know about getting sites in the UK.
* just buy one, then flog it afterwards. And you said money no object.

Buy a suitable bike, go on holiday to somewhere suitable. Sorted.
Germany would be the easy choice, Bonneville if you don't mind the traveling

Re: Where Can I Go Fast? Really Fast.
Best starting with a call to one of the well know guys like TTS or Holeshot etc? They are the Busa guys I seem to recall.
Having said that, watching the CarWow drag races with Chris Northover generally he gets a better launch and time on normal bikes than he does on the nutter Busa thing with 400bhp. Usually cos it's wheel spinning/wheeling everywhere.

Re: Where Can I Go Fast? Really Fast.
Bloke I once worked with on one site (Geordie called Sam) used to go to Elvington somewhere for top speed runs on his breathed on Busa.
Think there was some kind of event for it.
