I lived nearby when I moved to London (Florence St, behind the Cop Shop) Spent some time there. Then moved to Bandit Country (South of the River) & lived just up the road from the Queens Head on Stockwell Rd.

IIRC our own attempt at a similar photo wasn't anything like as impressive.....

I saw Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers (as they were called then) in 1977 (I think...) at Stafford Top of the World. I've even got some old B/W photos of the gig stashed away somewhere.

I think that (Hope + Anchor) was where I saw Ian Dury and the Blockheads. It wasn't advertised as that, I think they wanted a practice with an audience before going on tour so it was billed as something else, but word got around.
