You should really pull that bleed screw out and make sure the seat, taper, thread and bore are clean and intact. I'd want to know or at least to be sure that it's ok, things don't fix themselves.
Seeing as the brakes have been cable tied a few times an no more issues, all I can thing that I didn't tighten the nipple the first time.
