The march of time in relation to laptimes...
1:43 around Jerez on a Moto3 bike!
Anyone who has done a TD at Jerez and timed themselves will understand just how (really) fast that is ,and for us mere mortals, this article puts it all into context for me-
How far back in history would I have to time travel to win a GP on my GSXR Fireblade ZXS1000RR?
https://www.bemoto.uk/blog/how-far-back ... 0%20years.
My view is that the biggest factor in all this is just how much better tyres are now than they were back then
Anyway, as you were, I just found it interesting.
(And despite me being totally the wrong size/ weight for it, a current pukka Moto3 is still the one bike I would most like to ride )

I don't follow Moto3 that closely so I'm delight to hear that Tony Wheel has the lap record at Jerez.

I remember reading an article a while back where a bunch of journalists tried to work out what was the slowest car Michael Schumacher could drive and still be uncatchable by a mere mortal, regardless of what said mortal was driving.
I think the conclusion was a Ford Mondeo

Wasn't there a lady who used to whoop sportscar ass in a Transit van around the Nurburgring?
