Looking for something cheap comfy and useable on road and track that wouldn’t be rubbish at either. Only one choice really so started looking round, enter this 2002 Honda CBR600F, last owner 16 years and 8k miles only. Just cleaned it as it looks like it’s never had a proper clean. Apart from a couple of caliper bolts needing replacing it’s in great standard condition

I'm sure I bought (a very nice) one of those from you a few years back. It was a great bike, I hope you enjoy that one, it looks like a cracker.

Mate of mine had one of these for exactly the same reason. A very good choice

I'm sure it's a great bike, but what a terrible colour.
My wife had a Toyota Avensis in the same 'old man' blue.

I remember a couple of old duffers who hustled them round Donington at a fair rate of knots

Ford dealers used to call something similar Doom blue". Didn't sell well.

Nice- it's no 636 that's for sure, but as those things go, looks like a nice one

This one needs very little so only a few things to make it better for me, set of decent part worn tyres and a 520 chain and sprockets I had already. And a basic YSS shock set with a little more rear ride height

Last small jobs done, calipers cleaned and new ebc hh pads, brake fluid changed and with original hoses the brakes are superb. Added 5mm rear ride height after trying standard it’ll be a tiny not really needed improvement. Also put standard front sprocket on as I’d gone -1, rear sprocket is +1 so that’ll do.
Remembered one more job I’ve got an R6 throttle tube to make the throttle slightly quicker action.
Just need the weather now, makes me wonder why anyone would pay 2-3x as much for the new budget bikes like a gsx8, R7 etc. Be interesting to see which put in the quickest lap times, quality wise this is light years ahead

Oh I dunno- although it will definitely go alright now he's fettled it, it's very beige- not exactly an exciting looker eh
Now if it looked like this ( yeah I know his old-man joints wouldn't have allowed it

)

Yeah,so have I

- not a great time of year for selling these sorts of bikes IMO so I haven't bothered trying .
As you can see in the pic, it's all back to road-bike trim and has been tucked away under a cover in the garage for the last few months , I'll stick an MOT on it and get it gone in a few months time when the weather picks up
