Re: Numero Otto: M-Cafe Garage Honda CX650
I always regarded the CX as the Austin Allegro of the motorcycle world. I have ridden both a 500 and 650, they weren't particularly interesting.

I have a soft spot for the plastic maggot. It was a great, if rather ugly, sensible and useable bike.
What they've done to that one removes the sense and useability and, to me, doesn't improve the looks.

I loved my CX500 back in the day. Wouldn't want another one, regardless of what had been done to it. My V100 provides me the across frame v twin experience

So much bling, time and money spent on something so undeserving.

Re: Numero Otto: M-Cafe Garage Honda CX650
I'm usually a sucker for a Honda racing livery, but no.
The last statement is a stretch!
Using a design feature that Massimiliano has coined the “Cabrio Saddle”, the entire seat unit lifts at the front on a pair of struts. The effect looks similar to the flip-top cars you see at Drag Strips. I’d imagine the bike’s owner will use any excuse he can to do this in public as it will undoubtedly impress any onlookers.

I fail to see the attraction of making a cafe racer out of an ugly, slow, ill handling tugboat of a bike.
It's an exercise in being contrary.

Re: Numero Otto: M-Cafe Garage Honda CX650
There's a tiny, petty part of me that would like the owner of that bike to do the seat unit lift whilst I was watching, I'd sort of like to see his face as I remained not only utterly uninterested but also showing just a hint of derision. A bit like the driver of a PT cruiser I once met at the lights, that had flame decals on its doors, with whom I made eye contact.

From my POV all of these 70s/80s donors are slow ugly tugboats, so it makes little odds to me

Poor mans Guzzi! I too have a soft spot for the old plastic maggit! They lend themselves well to these conversions. Not sure on the engineering blue on the haft dive though? Good effort overall though.

I remember that being said at the time.
I bought one anyway... then I got a ride on the V50... I handed it straight back again!

The Guzzi... I loved the 850 Le Mans... but the V50 was more lemon.
