Build your own fuel cell bike

Post by The Spin Doctor »

Want to build your alternative energy motorcycle?

MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology will help!

MIT’s team members are curating a guidebook to document the step-by-step process of how they built the hydrogen fuel cell-powered electric motorcycle from scratch, so riders can construct their own too. It has been a part of the team’s goals from the start, and by making everything available as an open-source design, they encourage riders to be an active participant in their months-long research.

Thought that was v interesting so I started to dig around on the cost of a 30kw-ish hydrogen cell fuel stack. It's a bit  at the moment, so I don't think you'll hear much hammering and banging coming from my garage for a while. :D

As long as it's in a cylinder, no worries.

I know looks aren't everything, but that's the first bike I've seen that makes a Tracer's lines look clean and smooth.

The article does explain that it's been designed to make it easy to slot components in and out ;)
