Honda Super Cub
Does anyone on here own one, or has ridden one? Someone new turned out with my club for a rideout from Westerham to Eastbourne on Sunday, on one of them. She's only recently passed her test, but was already riding confidently, and on the sorts of roads were on, and in 3 deg C temperatures, she had no problem keeping up. She said she gets 180 mpg - my jaw dropped. I also know of a couple of experienced riders who have one as a second bike, and swear by them. Hers was a rather nice matt grey one with red seats, like this:

If I had room for a second bike I'd be tempted, if only for the sort of reverse-kudos appeal.

Re: Honda Super Cub
Do they still have the thing where putting pressure on the gear lever disengages the clutch?

Re: Honda Super Cub
I think they are great. The Honda 125 Innova is the evolution of the C90,the extra cubes and another cog make a difference. I've had loads of 90s,but folk are asking daft money now.

Just not the same since they got rid of the funny front end which rises when you brake.

Yes, I really wish I'd bagged one when you could hardly give them away. Brilliant little bikes.

Re: Honda Super Cub
I'm wearing my official Seiko/Honda collab watch today
Done loads of miles on a 'traditional' Super Cub for Domino's, they're fantastic machines. I think they're the world's most produced vehicle?

Re: Honda Super Cub
Yup I've ridden one, a million miles better than the original even with rose tinted specs on. I also rode an original with over £10k spent on it for the race series and this new one would destroy that one too with no mods at all. It's a shame they don't make a bigger version that looks the same as the 125 as the SH300 has enough performance to do a motorway

A C90 was my first bike: work, social, college and even a few long trips. My Dad bought it off me and ran it until it couldn't get past an Mot without some decent money required to fix it. He had it for years and used it everyday. Fantastic little bike.
I almost got a new one late last year. Will get one sometime, no question.

I’ve aways fancied one of the CT 125 postie bikes.
There was a bit of a campaign a while back to get honda to import them to the UK.

You've reminded me that my Dad had one, too, for a while. He used to ride BSAs and Vincents in the '50s, then stopped riding when he got married - I think he sold the Vincent to buy an engagement ring . In retirement he developed heart disease, and started cycling to get some exercise. When that ended up provoking his angina too often, he graduated to a C90, which he loved.Buckaroo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 10:07 am A C90 was my first bike: work, social, college and even a few long trips. My Dad too. He had a Vincent before I was born, then a Goldstar combination when we were kids. I still have the scar from the exhaust pipe!Scootabout wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 9:38 pmYou've reminded me that my Dad had one, too, for a while. Re: Honda Super Cub
But oddly never sold in Spain or Portugal. The 125 Cub is sold here, but cannot remember ever seeing one on the road here.
I must have had a dozen or so as field bikes when a teenager. Favourite of them all was a 1965 C50 with the pushrod engine. Great little thing, love another for nostalgic reasons.
