HOW MUCH SLOWER IS TOO MUCH? MOTOGP'S 2027 DILEMMA

Post by Horse »

https://www.the-race.com/motogp/motogp- ... ia-rivola/

Sweeping changes are expected for MotoGP's incoming 2027 rules overhaul - which is known to be targeting a much-needed reduction in performance.

MotoGP has run up against a significant hurdle in recent years as both aero and related developments such as ride height devices have sped up machinery - and a number of the series’ most iconic circuits now verging on the margin of being too dangerous for the current speeds.

Discuses unintended consequences from engine capacity changes and compares GP and WSB lap times.

Ride height and start devices should be banned, and there has to be a way of cutting back on aero. Perhaps enforce intake restrictors rather than cutting capacity to rein in top speeds/power?

Yeah. Reduce top speed. But, keep the monster power :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Keep binning stuff until the Yamaha is competitive again. That'll be about right for the grid.
