Eurosport or Discovery +?
So, after many increasingly shit F1 years, I'm binning off sky sports (well sky sports on Now tv). So, I need to get my motorsports fix somewhere else.
Not sure if anyone subscribes, but I'm after some info
Thinking of subscribing to either of the above but as normal, it's not quite as simple as I thought it would be. I want to watch some bike racing and the FIA WEC endurance racing and anything else I can get.
Direct with Eurosport it seems like the basic package is £6.99/ month and that gets me the WEC plus motorsports? Does it have any, non motogp bike racing? If I want rugby and MotoGP (absolutely not interested in football) then it is £29.99/ month which seems very steep?
I then went on the Discovery + site and that includes all the discovery programmes plus the eurosport stuff for the same prices, so that seems a better deal?
I'm leaning towards the £6.99 a month package as long as there's some decent stuff on there?

Re: Eurosport or Discovery +?
I had Discovery Plus last year as I got it on a super cheap deal, when it went up to full price in 2023 I didn't bother... but did miss the Eurosport.
I might renew again in 2024.
If you like car fixing programs or Doctor Pimple Popper, then It's well worth it for that and Eurosport.
The £30 option includes TNT Sport (the new name for BT Sport) and you get the MotoGP, but it's a bit too spendy for me.
I've also been tempted by the MotoGP Video Pass, but again it's quite spendy.

I’ve been using Discovery+ for the last few seasons and like you say at £6.99 per month it’s well worth it.

Re: Eurosport or Discovery +?
It's probably the most cost effective way to get tv,but I don't watch live stuff and I can't record programmes with a firestick.
Eurosport and Discovery + come with my Sky package.

I think Yozza means a 'hooky' Firestick with illegal streams of subscriber content... cos he's from Bratfud where they're all dodgy as fuck.

Re: Eurosport or Discovery +?
Isn't it splitting/merging/changing to TNT Sports soon/before the start of next season? Or was that BT Sport?

If you're going that route there are just websites available but they're consistently inconsistently functional.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 8:39 pmI think Yozza means a 'hooky' Firestick with illegal streams of subscriber content... cos he's from Bratfud where they're all dodgy as fuck.

I have a firestick, but I'll be sticking with my legal oneKungFooBob wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 8:39 pmI think Yozza means a 'hooky' Firestick with illegal streams of subscriber content... cos he's from Bratfud where they're all dodgy as fuck.

I'll probably go this route tbh. Seems like a reasonable deal, as long as I can get all the motorsport stuff, apart from motogp. Can't see that spending over £20 more for some rugby and motogp is worth it.

Re: Eurosport or Discovery +?
Discovery+ is superb. It's a slightly clunky app in some ways, but very very effective

Re: Eurosport or Discovery +?
In Feb 2022 I got a years subscription for £19.99.
In 2023 it was £64.99 iirc and I couldn't find any offers, so didn't bother.
So it might be worth waiting a bit for any deals, but with the benefit of hindsight, it's probably worth the full cost regardless.

It is especially when compared to the cost of others, and for what you get the full price is relatively cheap. I remember you getting that deal, I couldn’t get the same deal at the time and has to pay the £6.99 per month.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 10:19 pm In Feb 2022 I got a years subscription for £19.99.

What I usually do is cancel the payment once the season has ended then start it back up again for the season starting, but you could watch races back during the off-season and or watch their season reviews etc or watch whatever else that tickles your fancy, there is plenty sport to watch as well as all the other discovery channels.

Re: Eurosport or Discovery +?
So, thanks all.
I've cancelled my Now tv subscription which had crept up to £50 a month. I've now subscribed to the Discovery+ £6.99/ month package.
I'll see how that goes for a while, before deciding whether to keep it going or maybe even upgrade to the £30/ month package to watch a load more sports channels, I think that includes all the TNT sports so a shed load on there. I'm not interested in the football, but the premiership rugby, UFC etc could keep me busy.
