Gonna be quiet on the trackday front for next 5 months, so I'll keep it going.

Too bloody cold to go over to mainland Spain or Portugal so gonna do a few dates over at Maspalomas on Gran Canaria.

The missus is in UK so can't take the car.
So we've adapted my mate's trailer which he initially adapted for his KTM300.
I have a superb bike trailer but can't tow it with Spanish car. They all need to have paperwork and certification plate.

Put some strong hoops at back and just need to add some wooden guides for front wheel tmrw. To avoid the disks getting damaged in the narrow front bit

Over 750 kgs they need their own ITV certificate. Smaller ones just homologation paperwork.

Loaded bike and discs are potentially gonna bash the sides of the front extension on the trailer.
So screwed in a pair of wooden wedges to put the wheel bang in the middle.
Sits lovely now.

Forks out and they'll be done in a couple of days.
Gonna clean the brake discs tmrw as it's almost beer O'clock

Just contacted the suspension dude.
The springs are held up in customs. A huge parcel apparently.
Bollox.
But he said he'd fix mine up with the seals etc and then fit the springs for free when they come.

Another job to tick off the list

Needs a new front tyre. Picked up load of tyre crap at Portimao.
Rear only did the last day there, so loads of life. It's wearing well, so standard suspension seems to be working OK

It lives. Forks properly serviced and new slightly heavier springs.
New front tyre as well.

Gonna feel different. Better I hope

The rebuild is not a problem per se, but my anxiety means it takes longer.
Everything is double checked and sometimes I go back for a third check

And tmrw I'll go over it again before I take it our for test run

Fark. Got an email an hour ago to say it's been brought forward to Saturday.
Anxiety overload.

Drove down to ferry port and they let me change the date with no charge.
But couldn't change hotel or get 1 night refund.
So booked another

Pen usual does all bookings but she's ij uk.

So I'm chuffed I could stay calm and sort it all out

The good news. The bike felt amazing on the test ride. It's lovely to have both new tyres. The rear only did the last day at Portimao so basically new.

And the new pads and clean discs felt great.

The bad news
The brakes went off quickly. After half hour the lever was right back to the bars.

Spent 3 hours bleeding but air bubbles still coming out. Must be airlock in the ABS system. Miles and miles of hose as ABS is under seat
Gonna order some racing brake lines to bypass it all.

So the bike isn't going tmrw.

Gonna order some racing brake lines to bypass it all.

So the bike isn't going tmrw.

Why did they need bleeding to start with? You swapped pads and cleaned rotors. Shouldn't have caused the issue you then had.

Why did they need bleeding to start with? You swapped pads and cleaned rotors. Shouldn't have caused the issue you then had.

It was disguised by the disc problem.
No initial bite and getting spongy.

The forks were leaking more than I realised and the oil mist probably caused the crap on the discs.

New pads pushed the brake fluid back up the system, but after an hour the lever came back to the bar.

I'd lost the clamp for the standard master cylinder so I've just nicked the one from Pen's AJP.

Fitted the original master cylinder and pressure within 2 minutes bleeding.
The Accossata M/C must have a damaged/faulty seal problem inside that I've found on Google. That's where all the air bubbles came from.

It's been on 5 of my GSXR1000s so done me OK. I'll take it apart one day, maybe.

Gonna have a nap then take it for a test ride.

Bingo, we have brakes.

First 3 hard braking were OK. 4th had back wheel in the air.

Lever too far back as usual, so need to do my usual trick of small piece metal between lever and M/C to throw lever further out.

Just contacted repairer in UK. Only £59 to have serviced and calibrated.
