recommendations for delivering a motorcycle
Anyone used a courier / van service to pick up a bike and had it delivered to a home address?
Any recommendations?
Thanks

Weesky's your man for this, recommendations rather than actually doing it I mean.
I've generally fetched and delivered my own. Other people's too, but only if the circumstances are right.

Re: recommendations for delivering a motorcycle
IanB of this parish has had bike's delivered a few times. if you don't get any joy today from this thread, I'm catching up with him tomorrow and will ask him. I know he's also had wildly different quotes for the same journeys.
If you look on the classifieds, most dealers will quote £100-£150 nationwide but that may mean waiting a week or two for a consolidated shipment?

I had three bikes delivered at once by these guys. They have proper dedicated vans with "wheel racks", not planks and ratchet straps.
Couldn't fault em. I think it was about £150 per bike for anywhere in the UK, but they did me a bulk discount.

Yeah - have got a quote from them but it will take up to 5 days to deliver . I just wonder what is happening to it in those five days ...Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 5:39 pm I had three bikes delivered at once by these guys. Re: recommendations for delivering a motorcycle
They take them to a central location first.
If you want someone to do a non stop door to door you've gotta pay for the time to do your delivery and ONLY your delivery (unless you can find someone who conveniently wants to move a bike to the same places as you) and they have to do it in one day....

Re: recommendations for delivering a motorcycle
I had a bike delivered, Cambridge to SofF.
AFAIR it came via other stops in Italy and Portugal.

BTW - they are on the list - just the timing of the delivery could be challenging.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 10:38 pm They take them to a central location first.

Anyone used AnyVan?
Or Specialised Motorcycle Transport
Or Bike Transporter.co.uk?
Need to get finalised this afternoon,

Re: recommendations for delivering a motorcycle
I've used Anyvan a couple of times for bikes. Cheap as chips and excellent service both times.
The guys that bid will give you all their details and history before you decide - they'll tell about dedicated bike fixings they have and their experience and testimonials etc. Would use again.

Re: recommendations for delivering a motorcycle
I’ve used Phil at Acceleration Motorcycle Transport twice. Picked up both bikes in Scotland and delivered one to the Isle of Man and the other to Bournemouth. Cant remember the prices, but they were competitive. He was recommended to me at the time. I’d definitely recommend him as well.

Re: recommendations for delivering a motorcycle
Scottish bloke who bought my Guzzi got The Bike Bus to collect it. Driver was a nice chap, but totally deaf, had to lip read. He seemed to take a lot of care with the bike, as you would hope.
No idea how much it cost him.

I guess it's only really useful if the bike is going to/from Scotchland.
