ZH2 Test ride

So today I had an hours outing on a ZH2. Oh my, motorcycle tech has moved on since my KTM was built.

Good points:

Flawless fuelling, absolutely spot on, in all situations from bimbling in hot slow traffic to briskish road riding.
It's supposed to be heavy but it hides its weight amazing well.
The engine, OMG, so quick, proper warp speed acceleration, as in making your stomach go queasy like on a fairground ride.
The electronics, anti wheel was tested under hard acceleration and the front lifted a few inches and just stayed there.
ABS, never had a bike with ABS so tried the back brake hard and no lock up just gentle stopping.
Brilliant front end, very well setup, absorbing bumps but letting you know they were there (back end was a bit more wooden)
Did I mention the engine?
The chirrups from the supercharger as you roll off (something to do with the blade tips coming down from supersonic).
Ergonomics, other than the uncomfy seat pretty much spot on for my 5ft 6 size. Mirrors were pretty good as well.

Could do better:
Seat is a bit hard, after an hour I could feel my arse getting grumpy
Rear shock is rather solid (might improve with a bit of twiddling)
Frame welding is a bit crude (though I am spoilt with the brazing on my Curtis MTB)

I'll be getting one.

The can would need to go for sure, but I reckon I could warm to the rest of it.

I heard recently,it's required at one of the service intervals (22k?) the fuel pump must be replaced and it's over a grand....

I rode the performance model with the akra homologated can. Apparently a 2015-2018 ZX10 can fits perfectly in place of the stock can, isa loads smaller and lighter and sounds good without being too loud.
