2007 Aprilia SXV550 - Standard, low mileage and unmolested

Post by Tricky »

As some of you may have seen from this thread here http://revtothelimit.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=8076 , a few weeks back I bought this lovely beast

Image

I've ridden it once on the road, the day I got it, and did a few laps of Pembrey the day after, and it is everything I thought it would be and I now understand why they are held in the regard that they are- it is one of, if not the quickest revving motors I’ve experienced, accelerates like an absolute bastid and really is a fun back-lanes sort of bike , and if you fancy an SXV, this is a decent one.

The reality for me though, is that I haven't ridden it since then , and being realistic, it’s not going to see any more use from me as my Tuono or 525EXC (and maybe at a push the TE300 ) do similar things for me as the SXV would on the road, I don’t see it as a trackday bike for me, and I'm currently at 11 bikes which is too many so I’ve decided that it’s the SXV that has to go

I paid just over £5k for it- I thought that seemed a fair price at the time, and would like as much of it back as I can, but I’m a realist and know they are a special-interest / marmite sort of bike and want it gone so am open to offers, hopefully not too far away from that.
I also bought the XVTuner cable (they are $200) which I’ve never even plugged in, and have the SW and PDFs of all the manuals etc. which I’ll be happy to throw in if the price is right

Don’t really want any swaps as I really do need the space, but I can’t help myself a lot of the time so always have an ear for interesting bikes or projects, if you fancy owning this, and it helps you, try me, I can only say no.

Located in south Bucks, near Princes Risborough between M40 J4 & J5, but do have a van and am retired so may be able to help with delivery / bringing closer to you if needed
Any other info or pics you'd like, or if you want to come and have a look / inspect/ or chat about it on the phone, just let me know

I think I'll take one of the bikes out I've already got and save some money.
I've definitely saved you from yourself there I reckon- great if you want a lairy , fairly unusual full-on and temperamental thing, but a very different proposition than a Dorsoduro, and far (far) too focused for me! :)
