A few things stand out from that. The bicycle is, by a chunk, the most expensive and probably the most fragile/frequently maintained and pricey to do so. If they can build and sell the Surron for less it looks like the bicycle is priced at 'what the market will stand'. I imagine prices will come down with more demand and competition.
They didn't do very well on the hill. They didn't look particularly good riders doing it but I assume they are?
The Surron range is supposed to be 40 miles (city/highway combined)...wonder how long it would last on something like stretches of the TET or off-roading in general?
Nifty thing though, wouldn't mind one.

If the range is 40 miles on road, I think you'd get about half that off road, very generally, my DRZ400 used twice as much fuel off road to on.

I'm assuming this bike in the OP is electric, if not, disregard

Due to the enormously different efficiency characteristics of electric motors vs ICE it essentially "doesn't work like that ^^^". I wouldn't be surprised if a electric off roader gets significantly better range at low off road speeds than it does on the highway.

There are people with electric 4x4s doing "proper" off roading who get miles and miles of range, way more than an equivalent ICE, cause the electric drivetrain maintains its excellent efficiency even down at 3mph whereas a petrol engine...doesn't. Plus the fact EVs can regen whenever you're driving down a hill.

I mainly use my drz on green lanes near where I live as there are loads of them. Being able to do them quietly, even though they are legal to ride on a motorcycle, would be a big advantage due to the number of horses and grumpy walkers.

I reckon if you can chuck a pair of smallish throw-over pannier bags on I'd get a fair bit of use out of one. (They do look eminently nickable though).

Mountain Bikes are quiet, you still get grumpy walkers and horse riders moaning, some people are just grumpy.

Indeed, some are. But it's not helped by some riders being @rses.
