I think the last bike I had with a centre stand was a 350 YPVS in 1990, and I took it off that.

I've got one.

You need a PROPERLY flat concrete floor, (ie polished to MotoGP factory standard), to make it of any use whatsoever because the castors are too small to roll over any imperfections in the floor surface when there's any weight whatsoever on the thing.

If your floor is carpet or mats of anything even vaguely giving, forget it. The castors will just sink.

I nearly dropped the Rockster trying to move it about in my workshop last year, the castors refused to roll and it nearly toppled over, haven't used it since.

I never use it now.

Completely different use case.

That's for lifting the bike to make it easier to work on.

A dolly is for moving it around so you can tuck it into the corner more easily.

If the wheels were bigger and 2 fixed for sideways movement iykwim, they might roll better and I'd imagine you don't want to be forcing things.

I made one out of a lazy susan bearing from simply bearings and some plywodd. Worked very well even on the carpet and much cheaper than that one!!

I bought a bike off a guy who had several bikes in his garage. They were nearly all on a similar thing but it had bigger wheels than that. Like the castors on a snap-on rollcab type of size. They worked very well but I dont remember what his floor was like.

I was tempted to put bigger castors on mine, bit they would have lifted the platform so high it would have been a major effort to get the bike on and off. Not exactly convenient.

Taking a chance on this. The little RE needs pushing to the wall to give me more space. Will report back,if I ever receive it.

Roll the front wheel up on a block to raise it a few inches,it'll make the heft unto the mainstand much easier.

Got yur...how far off the ground is the dolly. ?

With the dolly brake on,the middle part the centrestand sits on is about 20mm higher than the ground.

Stuck this under the RE this morning. Works perfect and I can now push the back end of the bike to the side and not bang into the indicator when walking passed.

It makes it harder to get on the stand but doable, maybe piece of wood under front wheel as said above.

I've got carpet tiles and if I'd put the gs on it I doubt it would of moved so whatever the RE weighs would be my limit...or lift the tiles.
