Thought some of you might find this interesting - something else to add to the touring check list. (I've not crossed the channel since COVID, so haven't run into this yet, but...)

They are really easy to get hold of tho
Think they've been in place for about 6-8 years, but maybe haven't been 'enforced' too much. Or the news is having a slow day!!
But, definitely handy to know if you're heading into cities

I've got one from my trip this time last year, pretty easy to get if you can scan your V5, cheap too.

Yup.
I've got one for my GS, there's only certain areas you need one. Like Annecy, which was where I was going

I ordered mine before I went, but it didn't turn up in time, however the Po-po consider an email confirmation as good as a sticker.
Not that anyone checked, I guess you'd have to be very unlucky to get caught.
It was waiting for me in the post when I got back.

Me too when I had the transit - it was stickered for years but I didn't go anywhere that it counted.
Actually - I didn't know Annecy was on the list, pretty sure it wasn't when I moved here!! So maybe I did 'use' it!! LOL

I wouldn't bother as a tourist unless you know you're going to one of the small number of cities that require one.

But they only cost buttons and it's a sticker to make you look well travelled in the car park at the local bike meet (I might actually put mine on the bike at some point).

I was in Annecy last month. Didn't know I needed a crit'air either. That was a saga of a trip. First we ran into a demo by the local gypsies over removal of caravan parking rights. They let bikes through, but we had to ride down a grass bank at one point. Bike broke down and I had to spend an extra week in the area to get it fixed, and I missed almost all the mountain rides. It was an adventure, but not quite the one I'd planned.

Damn! Should have said, I could have borrowed a car and come and said hi! Annecy is roughly an hour and a half from me (depending on where in that area you are!) and since anywhere useful is 40-45 mins, an hour and a half is 'just along the road'!!
Let me know when you come back to do the mountain stuff!

Just ordered one for the Rockster..... I've no intention of going anywhere that needs it... but I prefer to have than not.
Just wondering where to stick it on the bike.
