Yamaha R6 track bike

Post by Supermofo »

Yamaha R6, 1999 model so first year it was made. I have the V5 and in theory could go back on the road.

Bad points: currently not running and needs putting back together. Carbs have been stripped/cleaned ready to go back on. Tank needs sorting and it needs new fuel line/filter. The bike was running perfectly before being left standing for a long time. Carbs were full of old petrol gunk.

Good points:
· Tony Scott Prepared Engine
· Aluminium Race Fairing Bracket
· Quickshifter
· Harris Rear Sets
· Acumen Gear Indicator
· R&G Mushrooms
· Micron Exhaust System
· Sprint Steering Damper
· Brembo rear M/C

This is the bike currently.

Tank is challenged. The stomp grips gave up and removed paint on 1 side and on the other where it was a sticky mess my mate covered in black tape for handling. The tank is empty but a bit rusty inside I think. So that needs sorting.

Full micron system which is pretty quiet, got into 98db trackdays I seem to recall.

Brembo m/c and rearsets. On the other side it has a Q/S. It also has a steering damper
Image

Big box of bits including spare clip ons, clutch plates, sprockets, OE fuel filler etc.
Image

Spare chain (looked ok when I had a quick look)
Image

Comes with loads of big spares including bottom faring, front mudguard, rear subframe and rear bodywork and spare wheels and discs.
Image

Box of odds and sods including spare levers.
Image

Another box with spare engine cases, rear brake disc, 1 gasket and presume templates for other gaskets

Price: £900 for the lot.

Edit: Forgot location! Hertford in Hertfordshire, so near A10 and A1.

Bump. It's spring and I want the bike gone. So gonna try and sort out an ebay account and stick it up on there.

If a forum member wants it before I stick it up on ebay I'll let it go for £600 as would rather it went to a good home.

Bargain.

You could always try FB marketplace or Gumtree as they're FREE to post an ad.

@Supermofo - if you haven't listed it elsewhere / it's still up for grabs, let me know and I'll have it- Realistically it's daft as I'm a bit strapped for space ATM but I've a real soft spot for 5EBs and love a project, one of these would be my choice for a PI 600 race bike, so it has potential for that for me, or a shared track bike for me and my brother @2xtwins ( or any other RTTLers if they want/ need one , or just fancy a go at a trackday with no financial risk)
Can't guarantee it would get immediate attention as that depends on how the Bandit thing goes, but I can guarantee that it would eventually get fettled into decent running order in the not-too-distant and a decent run out on some trackdays, or maybe even a race or two if I get really carried away :)

Done. Would love someone like you to have it as I reckon you'll get it sorted and back where it belongs. It was a fantastic track day bike for me, just wish I hadn't let my mate take it which ended up where we are now. Can sort details out via PM
