Has anyone ridden the trails at Whinlatter forest in the lakes?
I'm going up in a few weeks and considering taking the bike to have a little play for a morning/afternoon or 2.

They're okay. It's split into 2 sections, north and south. I believe the south side was closed for quite a while, you'd need to check if it's open. Mostly standard trail centre stuff, quite rocky in parts, couple of fun sections with big berms and jumps. Great views though if the weather is nice.

Cheers, it looks like both the north and south trails are open, today at least! I’ve watched a few videos and it seems like it’s probably worth a visit - will definitely be a different sort of challenge to what I normally ride.

I did give Whinlatter a go when I was there last week. Hired an ebike and set off Keswick and up the Whinlatter pass to the trails - that's a bit of a hill, so having the motor was a good thing.
We'd had rain overnight and in the morning, so everywhere was pretty wet. That meant as soon as I started the North trail I was soaked and coated in mud! It was pretty rocky and pretty slippery in places but still lots of fun. It took a while to get used the assistance and the bike felt like it was a bugger to turn on uphill hairpin/switchbacks - could have been the bike, me, or both.
Coming down the north trail there was an awesome berm section where it looked like there was a sheer drop the other side - it was pretty steep but not quite as severe as it looked.
The south trail was a lot more flowy - I did this a couple of times - a few jumps, lots of berms and lots of fun on this one.
Planning on going back again next year, but I'll take my own bike I think.
The bike I hired was a Lapierre Overvolt 6.6.
