I am moving wholly to flat pedals ... suggestions

I currently ride on Funn Mambas - so flat onesie/ SPD the other. I think that now I am of a certain age, flats will make more sense...
Any recommendations ?
I have looked at Nukeproof Sam Hills - but they seem to be sold out everywhere
DMR look ugly / heavy , and man they are thick.
Do Cranks Bros stuff still fall apart?
Just to add to the issue, I have size 47 feet - so anything that bolts up close to the crank isn't good ( so it rules out the favourite - which was Spanks)
And suggestions?

I have DMR V8 flats, I hadn't ridden flats in many many years but it's been surprisingly easy to get used to them.
They've had a fair bit of abuse, rock strikes etc and when I need new pedals, I'd be happy to buy the DMR's again.

no. not if you maintain them with the service kit that is available.
I've been running a pair of mallets for about 5 years, they've had a few services with new bearings and bushes and run just fine. The issue I have is that the spring is wearing so the cleats pop in and out a little bit too easily, but that won't be an issue on flats.

The good thing with CB's stuff is it comes in a lovely cardboard coffin for when you need to send it back under warranty.

My local shop suggests that everything is sold out and the moment - and that waiting is a good idea until stuff comes into stock ....
So decision possibility averted - but when did pedals become woth 85 quid?
Weekly - I have some nuke proof neutron composites - which I like. But they only go with ten yellow bike ( I know

)

Oddly, I have never serviced a pedal in my life. I still have 30 year old XT SPD running ....
So the thought of having to do it regularly with CB rules them out!

I've got Hope F20 which I'm really happy with. Using Five Tens on them it feels like you're riding with SPDs. I've also got Nukeproof Neutrons on my clockwork and whilst they're really good and grippy, I find the convex shape (the pedal axle/centre line of the pedal sits slightly higher than the outer 'cage') gets uncomfortable after a couple of hours.

bearings wear. chuck in water, mud & sand, fat bloke jumping up and down on them for hours on end and you have the perfect combination for a bit of wear. It's just occasional and routine maintenance.
the bearings of you 30 year old xts might be shot to shit, but you've never serviced them so can't be sure
I have seen pedals fall apart and I have picked up a number of pedal platforms when litter picking the trails in the fod. shit happens.
