Only thing is you have to live in the place you were the least happy for 2 years.
For me it would be North Wales, and you can shove your money where the sun don't shine (probably Wales as well).

Fuck that, you'd need to pay me considerably more to go back to boarding school.

Yeah easy.

I suppose I'm lucky in that I've never lived somewhere I've truly disliked etc.

Hmmm.....Streatham for two years? I was eighteen at the time, and it only lasted about a year, but I don't think I'd be as ok with it now as I was then. Or maybe it's improved?

Does England count? It's not until you leave that you realise it's not a nice place to live.

True.
Are you comparing comparable places and times or just Shithampton in the UK when skint is worse than Toityville in Foreignland when you are well off? Like when motoring journalists compare 1970s cars, Cortina versus BMW.

And yes I would, but with one caveat. I'd want not a million pounds but a meeeeelion pounds.

Living in a slum in Africa or a slum in India? For two years. No thanks, I don't think my sanitary sense or digestive system would survive that long.

There isn't any place I've lived that I couldn't live again for two years. But if you add in the same people? That'd be a hard NO!!

It's not the places I struggled with but the situations. And I'm willing to pass on the money to not put myself through that again!!! I'll be poor and happy ta!!

I lived in various places in UK. But never ever want to return.

I don't think i have lived anywhere where i was unhappy just because of where i live.

Though i suppose the hardest place i have lived was St Annes here in Bristol as those times were pretty hard financially and had a lot of shit going on too, plus it was the first house moving out from the parents.

For 1 million quid, i'd do it again inna heartbeat - i was there for 5 years and saw 3 riots!

I don't think I ever lived anywhere that could be described as Shithampton. Although I spent a few weeks every summer as a kid in Littlehampton :D :D

But, I don't want to live in the UK again, despite living in some really lovely places there.

I think it was soured for me by the attitudes of too many people in the last area I lived. And that's despite facing what has essentially been racism for the first time in my life since I've lived in France (not in a massive way, but on the occasions it's happened, it's quite obvious! Or they just hate people with pink hair!! LOL )

I know friends and family that are very happy there. On the flip side, I told my brother tonight that as his wife is Irish, with an Irish passport, they can both move to Europe (well, France anyway) without restrictions/visas!! Made him very happy   And he's always loved living where he does, but was sad when he thought he couldn't move to France

I've never lived anywhere that I'd describe as bad and the closest would be an old farmhouse where the location was ace but the house was one of those badly insulated shitholes that southerers love to buy.
A million would sort it out nicely then it would just be a warm home on a nice hill.

I've been the least happy right where I am now, and I've been the happiest in my life in a big dirty city, although granted the happy part is bringing my daughter home and when she was a baby.

But I'd not live in a city for a poxy million quid and I'd happily stay where I am even if meant living on a shoestring

Give me 20 mill and I wouldn't go back to UK.
Probably wouldn't leave this island. And would take a lot to prise me from our amazing villa.
