M5 tap.... with tool/handle... where from ?

Post by weeksy »

I bought a cheap ebay tap set for about £6, which worked well enough, but is now worn and crap after 3-4 uses

So want to buy a decent set this time..

I'd be looking at Cromwell or RS components for decent kit.

Ha, coincidence.

This week I bought an M5 set (3 x M5 taps - plug, second and taper) - Dormer < I've used them at work and they are good.

You need to make sure it's high speed steel not carbon. Put the link up before you press buy so we can look

Dormer stuff is good. Don't buy shite as it will snap off and ruin your expensive what ever you were working on.

We use taps a lot at work, mostly for cleaning threads but also for cutting new threads. We buy them from Wurth, they must be pretty good because I haven't broken one for months
