Silly Season is Starting

Post by Yorick »

Young Scotty is getting fed up. It's a shame as he has so much talent and deserves a decent bike.
I'm only watching WSBK to see him do well.
Not sure where he can go next, but his C.V. reads well.

12 GP wins
12 WSB wins
2nd in Moto2
BSB champion

He had a decent bike, the Ducati. He wasn't up to the job.

Anyone deserves a better bike than the beemer,as it currently stands. Remember Redding saying he was leaving Ducati because he felt unwanted and the BMW team were lovely people who appreciated him.

I never understood all that spiel.

He's obviously a talented rider, but he did all that team jump stuff by his own hand and the dogs in the street knew it would end badly.

Agreed.

But it still wasn't good enough

If Ducati thought he'd win it, they'd have kept him

As Skub alluded to, I think he walked away.

Kenan has said there’s been a bit of interest for Toprak but I can’t see him leaving Yamaha.

I’m not surprised, I think the technicians should be leaving as well 👀

How keen would any rider be to join that team after seeing what happened to Sykes?

I wonder if he'll retire now,or fancy something like AMA,or another run at BSB.

Fab Frog and MM might want to jump ship if the bikes don't improve. They've certainly hinted at it.

But where to?

All KTM/GasGas riders contracted for 2024 and Pedro Acosta waiting in wings.

All Aprilias contracted for 2024.

Only the factory Ducatis contracted for 2024.

Hmmm. 6 spare Duc seats . Well 4 coz Team 46 won't change riders.

Ducati have said they want to bring young riders up.
That's Fab Frog in and MM out.

Let's see :D

As bad as his last couple of seasons have been that doesn't sound like a man bothered about Yamaha offering him a job

Blimey. It's something when 2 of biggest folk in mighty Honda have a chat

Huge mutual respect. And shows how much Honda value MM

Marquez, Honda’s second-in-command Shinji Aoyama, and HRC president Koji Watanabe held a private meeting at Mugello, reacting to the MotoGP’s team dreadful weekend.

Bautista just had a test on the Ducati MotoGP bike....

Bautista's best lap time from the test at Misano was a 1’32.590, and the lap record at Misano is a 1'31.868. It is clear to see that Bautista has gelled back to the MotoGP machine very quickly!

Just checked and that time would have put him 10th in qualifying for last year's race. Wowsers....

Wonder if he might fancy a switch over ;) :D

But maybe will shut up all the folk who say he only wins in WSB coz he's so light. He can ride a bike rather well ;)
