Tracer 9 GT+

Got me thinking about how that bike has changed since they first came out. Quick google and a inflation calculator shows
2014 Tracer was £8100 = £10500 now
Now I know the GT R SP RS + with added SPS RS has a lot more gadgets but what started as a budget middle weight is now £15k
Although the base model at £10100 is at least only inflationary.

Did you happen to read the MCN article that was saying bikes haven't gone up beyond inflation? I read that and thought 'hmm, not sure about that'.Supermofo wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 2:50 pm New spangly Tracer

The underlying bike is virtually the same, so much the same to build so interesting that the electronics package and few plastic mouldings are punted out for such a premium price. I guess that's where the profit is now.

Waiting for Dad to throw that MCN my way. But he mentioned it.The Spin Doctor wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 3:03 pmDid you happen to read the MCN article that was saying bikes haven't gone up beyond inflation? I think the crux of it is that whilst bikes 'might' have gone up with inflation, wage inflation is wayyyyyyyy behind. So its not as equivalent as they say it is.

They've sorted the scuba mask / groucho marx dash that was so un-liked and then gone and made the front end ugly instead...

Yep, those clocks were hideous things. Don't like the longer side panels either and on this, those daytime lights or whatever they are spoil the front. I had the 18MY and front looked good imo.
